The 1meter square coil is meant to be a two man job. I think. One operates the control box, other dummy tote the coil.

Or you can make a trolley skates thingy which rolls the coil along

Here it is with a lick of paint, and the trolley coil...
This is my standard foldable compact design. Alongside is the SMpro on a polio crutch-heavy as hell. There is also a 12v solar panel, which is also incorporated into my folding design with internal li-ion charge controller.

OK, here are pics for you guys. I finished it up today. Crazy Tech is a good guy! Bamboo wood box, with clear slide-on Lexan top cover, 8-cell AA setup, I took off the small speaker that came with it as you could barely hear it, and attached a 3.5mm headphone jack I had salvaged from an old computer monitor, works perfect. As for the machine, I'm still learning it, it seems to work well, getting a 6" aluminum pot at 2-3 feet up with the 1 meter coil, but I've barely begun to figure out the controls. Any pointers from you guys on that would be much appreciated, Crazy Tech's Sniffer manual is pretty rudimentary. The first few pics are before I attached the headphone jack, testing it in the yard, the last pic is as it is now, I just need to drill a hole for the jack and JB weld the jack port onto the main box. Well done GS. I use laminated bamboo for my lower shafts (garden rake handles)- man, is that stuff strong!!
Here is what I have on setup.
Also search Google for docfoc.com Delta Pulse Metal Detector Practical Guide - it was too big for me to upload.

It looks good, one advice from me, best way is solder coil cables directly to the board, when the connector is used it will eventually become dirty and does not make good contact which degrades the operation of the detector

Don't be mad. From my dealings with him he was very helpful. As far as shielding the box, I have yet to do that, because other members have said its not necessary, and the area I will be searching has zero EMI. I chose not to shield it, and if I decide to shield in the future, it will be easy to do so, all components are removable from the unit, I built it so it fully disassembles.

I don't even understand what you just said. Crazy Tech sent me a working Sniffer XR-71, seems to be well built, and upon assembly and testing it functions perfectly. I don't know what your dealings are with him, but I am well pleased, most companies here in the US will not be so helpful and answer 100 questions. And no, the shielding is not necessary for my search area especially, I have just tested it, works perfect zero interference. Now, if at some point I will search areas where EMI is a problem, it is as simple as pulling out the battery pack and board, and lining the inside with aluminum. It's picking up an aluminum can at about 3.5 feet (over 100cm) and a roll of US nickel coins at about 3 feet. Thats just an hour of tweaking and testing it. I love this thing

we say about ELECTRO STATIC FIELD AND ACCUMULATION OF THE CHARGE ON OPERATOR BODY AND THE HOUSING.
NO, I never nowhere did say you about EMI - !!!
