Very expensive Rubbish. A four channel TDI with bogus false claims and fancy advertising jargon.
How many engineers are into metal detecting as opposed to regular treasure seekers. I suspect the ratio is large( or small) dependent on perspective.
When the treasure seekers are relegated to chimps with expensive toys, I am reminded of the 737 Max. There ought to be criminal liability for such things. Who approves such nonsense. Are there any standards of proof when it comes to such new metal detectors or are the code writers holding us to economic blackmail?

Of the videos that were removed (pity -they were very nice ) a nail flicker was demonstrated -in front of monocoil of the detector . The tone of VCO shivering extremely fast -synchronously with the jitter of the nail . This means in the first place a very fast integrators ! But the faster the integrator is , the lower the signal / noise ratio has at its exit ! Which is very bad - depth is lost , the detector is very fast, but on the other hand catches very shallow , and there are huge problems with EMI. You can be sure that this new detector there is no loss of depth at all, although it is incredibly fast ! 6-7 years ago I was thinking about these issues (problems ). I decided them very quickly (only theoretically ) before I get a split of personalityIf you are interested , we can discuss this topic . Something like brainstorming . The problem is unsolved and complex , but only at first glance. In fact, the solution is very simple- and is not expensive , and here it will be on the market very soon ! If you're interested, I'll tell you something -I will direct your thoughts . And time-based discrimination with monocoil (separating the targets and rejection of iron targets ) is not a complex issue . You should watch the oscilloscope before you have lunch ...

Time based discrimination is not discrimination, it is conductivity sampling and notching. There exists opportunity for multiplexing signals. Then extraction of selective information.
My critique was based on the review linked in the first post. No doubt composed to lure the gullible, which according to Quaozhi, is not a word
Only after the device is put through it's paces by reputable people can it be possible to know and justify it's performance.

Been thinking a lot about this new machine. Reading the description and comparing it to my TDI SL it seems the machine only has three present advantages, well it was three, now two. The Manta can sample to 7 micro seconds and the White’s TDI can sample at 10. Now that might not sound like much but 7 allows the smaller stuff to be heard before going silent if running at 10 micro seconds. The other market advantage was to be the water proof feature, but since White’s released a water proof version of the Sl that advantage is gone. Now we’re back to only two market advantages for the Manta, well unless 1^st Texas is holding a trump card of a feature. Or when White’s released the water proof version they, 1^st Texas decided to add another feature to excel the competition which might explain the official delay of this new machine. The other advantage will be in the weight/balance advantage and everyone knows 1^st Texas makes some very ergonomic machines. The manta coming in from 1.6 – 1.8 kg which amounts to somewhere between 3.5 and 4 lbs. Verses the SL at 5.2 lbs which now offers an option to detach the control box and hip mount the unit which greatly reduces the weight issue. Now in comparison of price, the TDI at $1300 and the Manta at $2100 I wonder, just how many will spend the additional $800 for the Manta. And I might add, after watching the Manta video on You Tube, where the machine could silence iron yet still see the gold, my SL can do the very same thing.
I think the release of this machine has taken way to long and their procrastination will cost them on this machine. But, that’s just my thoughts, time will tell.
Now I'm not a PI expert by any means, but having the TDI for over 3 years has taught me quite a bit about gold jewelry hunting in relation to a PI. It has landed me the most valuable pieces of gold jewelry so far and that was a site that has been hammered for years with the most expensive VLF detectors in the world. Okay, I'm ready for my scolding, bring it on.

scoldings aside markg you have some good points and looking above and beyond any seasoned detectorist can see how minelab's equinox with its light form factor, performance on land/sea and price range led to the end of tesoro. If the nox was created and labeled to just be a beach machine then i believe tesoro would still be here today.

I think its way simpler using just one detector for everything so a person could gain more experience from using the same machine over and over again. If fisher could release the impulse aq to be both land and sea in a one detector package including a deeper underwater submersion level... and if it was priced at around 1000 dollars then i think it would put other detector companies in shock. If your goal is to kill the competition then one atom bomb to the competitors is enough and that's what the hard nox did to tesoro.

now looking even more above and beyond i'll talk about what i think a detector company really needs... all they need are two types of detectors- one vlf land/sea and one pulse land/sea. Minelab has a multi freq vlf that does land/sea now all they need is one great pulse that can do land/sea. Fisher is coming out with a pulse but the only problem is that its only for beach/sea. Repackaging the detector just to make one for land is just silly and this is the reason for slow movement of detector technological advancements. Now if fisher holds off the release of the impulse aq to just release one model ex. impulse aqua/terra for both sea and land prospecting then this would give a great blow to minelab since all their gold pulse machines are way higher priced. This wouldn't kill off minelab because they still have the nox. Now in desperation minelab would be forced to make an even better multi frequency machine or another superior pulse machine to outdo fisher's. Fisher has the upper hand since no one can see what's inside the impulse aq yet. In summary if fisher releases the impulse as both land/sea all they would have to worry about and focus on is making a better multi frequency detector than minelab's. If fisher does it in time then they could become the new detector company leader. But for a detector in the price range that can do it all- land/sea the nox is basically the iphone of vlf detectors.
