to measure voltage on 1MOhm resistor end by tester is not good idea. but continue.

Pin 5 seems reasonable, pin 6 does not. I'm not sure what is going on. What I would try to do is isolate the problem by removing parts and maybe injecting a false signal. You would need an oscope and a pretty good understanding of how the circuit is supposed to work.

well that is me at the end of the road with it them.
would it be worth me taking off all that i have put on for the Mod. then put all the existing parts back on and see if the machine works as it did before doing the Mod.?

Sure, but just start with the threshold mod. Whatever the problem, it's around U5. Look really closely (magnifying glass) to see if there are any solder shorts.

very dirty joints. you would have a bottle with spirit (isopropyle) around near you on table, with small brush (painters and school children use such brushes).
you have to clear every joints after soldering, you have to get VERY clear places. then, after, you have to look them by zoom magnifier. i do SUCH WORK my every time, BTW.
                  learn this. look https://www.lemona.lt/izopropilo-alk...a-99-8-1l.html

thats a good point kt, i thought the joints looked a bit dirty and over cooked if i'm honest.
but i did not want to sound as though i was criticising his work, i have never done bills mod so i left it to those that have, but those joints bother me.

all his joints are dirty. first, it shows me sure he is newbie. second, no practice in right soldering. it's absent.
he is learning the f#g electronics like 'a beginer driver in sportcar at american roads without licence'. ok. we must HELP him in every his step then.
PS. i am not criticising his job because we all are learning too every day. i am not a professor of Preston university.

thanks for the advice guys. i did retouch up resister 24 as it did look a bit as though the solder on one leg was not quite fully connected. it still made no difference to the threshold working. the dirty flux on the soldered areas. the flux that i bought of ebay a while back. it is nasty stuff. it is like really bad sticky toffee in the tin. plus it is even worse once you have used it. it is nasty stuff to remove off the board........... is it important to remove an waste flux around your soldered areas after you have finished the job?

                        thanks in advance......

how you will find the problem if you do not delete the flux and do not see it? you have to inspect every joint by magnifier glass X5...X10. i use X10.
after the cleaning. guys, help with the alcohol to k777 where to buy, links shops etc.

i forgot to mention guys. i did eventually get the Threshold on the machine working. the fault was with the S.A.T. red cable ware it was soldered to the two split off resisters. it had some how came off and the shrink wrap was hiding that it was no longer soldered on.

for the clearing you can use russian vodka if have not access to isopropyl alcohol.
