Well my new display came in and got it installed Screen came on and displayed the correct characters but still have problems..........no backlight . I checked the backlight plug-in on the board and have the correct 5v on the pins . I have the pigtail soldered correctly to the display board 5v and the polarity is correct . I should be getting 5v to the display but I am not . I checked and only measured a bit over 2v . I assume not enough to illuminate the screen . Why would I have the correct 5v on the pigtail and then then when attached to the display board it drops to 2v ? I can hook a independent 5v power supply to the screen and bam it lights up great . What can be causing the drop in voltage with everything connected ? Seems I'm at a loss again ...........
