  • Topic: What brand of pulse metal detectors do you guys use?

Hello everyone, I'm from China. Currently the mainstream models in China are the 6103 and Golden Mask circuit boards. Their depth and stability are not very good, and they are not resistant to high-voltage power line interference! Could any experienced users help me out with a DIY circuit plan? I would be extremely grateful!

Broadly, I think there are 3 major categories of PI detectors:
    1. Beach and surf
    2. Prospecting
    3. Cache & meteorite
I expect that most people here are interested in 1 & 2 and that is what the majority of projects that you can find on Geotech are tailored for. These tend to be self-contained "swinging" type detectors with coils up to 1/2 meter.

The 3rd category tends to be detectors with 1 meter or larger coils. Fewer people seem to use these and I don't know of any project that is dedicated as a deep cache hunter. Besides a large coil, you want lots of current -- 10s of amps at least. And, as I've said, this will only detect deep objects that are very large. I doubt you will ever detect a coin cache at 2 or 3 meters.

My large 8m coil setup: A 60cm iron target can be detected at 1.5 meters depth.

I highly doubt the authenticity of this. Is there any supporting evidence?

          TR locator can do better

What is with this one? Some treasure hunters in Thailand use it. They say it can detect a car at 7 meter distance. The screenshot left is from eBay US today.

This is the Heisong 6000 (also known internationally as the OCTA Relic Monster / HS-6000 AI), a pulse induction metal detector manufactured in China.

Hi, this is my DIY pulse induction metal detector.
It can steadily and accurately locate car and small car-sized metal objects within 7 meters.
It is more stable and offers deeper detection than the Heisong HS-6000 pulse metal detector.

This machine has some obvious drawbacks.
Its biggest weakness is poor stability.
It gives frequent false alarms in cold winter weather, on damp wet ground, and on rough, uneven terrain.
It is highly sensitive to iron and large metal objects,
but not very sensitive to gold, silver and copper targets.

I will post photos below. Video uploads are not allowed on this forum, so I cannot share real demonstration videos.

This requires very low frequencies, the TR locator operates at 2 kHz - the lowest frequency I have ever seen.
