  • Whites Pulse Scan TDI 2009 Battery Volts?

    I got a hold of a broken TDI and it did not come with a battery. When I run it from a powersupply at 12V only the red light comes on. I need 15V to get all 3 Led's on.
    The wavy threshold is more stable at 15V also. I was going to use 3 3.7V lithium batteries to power it as I thought 16V was max. The big cap for pulsing is 25V.
    Am I OK with 4 Lithium batterys (16.8V Max)?

    Hmm It looks like from the manual 14.4V / 4 = 3.6V and it talks about charging Lithiums. I thought the Pro had the higher voltage...

        It runs on a nominal 14.4V lithium pack, which usually charge up to 16.8V. I think somewhere there is an18V max component but don't recall which one.

          Ya, Thanks Carl. I had a 3 cell pack for it but luckily I bought an extra one so I'm modding it to 4.

          I see what people are talking about with the warbly threshold though but it does go deep!

            Anyone know the resistor value for this mod? It looks like 2.7K or 27K but the other picture looks like 75K.
            It smooths out the GB channel by reducing the gain for certain size signals I think.
            Reg got this added to both channels on the SL then removed it from the signal channel later. Click image for larger version

                Some people have said the LM386 adds to the warble tone and using a two transistor amp makes it work much better with a smooth threshold. In looking at the proto scheme and the board the 2 transistor circuit is already on board. So we can just disable the LM386 and take our audio from the last transistor.
