I'm in favour of this idea. Far too often a good topic was destroyed by a small number of troll accounts, and each time there was a delay in constructive contributions.

Qia-o-zhi, my bad, the emphasis were to mean "moderated out by trouble-makers" than the "moderation of trouble-makers by the admins", and now it is high-time to give invite the guru's who have shied away from Geotech -- if only trouble-makers have been really named and shamed and in future some flagging system in place on the forum and in the hands of real gurus & expert contributors by some consensus.

I am now nonplussed that there is no differentiation as to who should be banned useful / expert contributors or real trouble makers who did not contribute a cent here -- Geotech must introspect before going archival.

This is not correct.
Both Bugwhiskers and Moodz are still members of Geotech, and have not been "moderated out".
Unfortunately, neither of them choose to post here anymore because of the troublemakers.

Just in case no-one has noticed, all the trouble makers were banned several weeks ago. The reality is that the Geotech forum is not responsible for the problems that Bugs has experienced. We all know who the culprits are (and they are no longer here) so let's just leave it at that.

who cares vb, by the sound of it nothing is going to be posted here anyway, it it seems those working on the qed blame THIS forum for the misfortunes of the qed and bugs.
which is a cheek really, there is a big long list of people responsible for that nonsense, none of whom are here anymore, and when they were they were not directly connected to this forum.
so i say again LOCK THIS THREAD AND STOP THIS NOW, we are not going to have this detector here, i have been told it basically wont be posted here, apparently the qed nonsense was all geotech's fault.

Is it not possible that with the current prevailing sentiment around QED as a vapourware, PUD etc etc. some corporate clan(s) picks it up and transforms it to something "their" patent brazenly - claiming improvement upon it? My doubt, as the F/w's, layout and schematics are all floating around the net, dunno patents so well.
