By the way, in answer to your questions concerning the best way to sell the QED, I would suggest offering a full kit of electronic parts. Users can then supply their own enclosures, stems and coils. A partial kit will be a nightmare to support - you can ask Gary (Chemelec) about that - and the idea of a fully assembled and tested detector has already been answered by Carl in his 5th commandment ... unless you want to be potting coils all day, instead of working on QED2.

Any target that has a dipping tone produces an overshoot (differentiation) by the SAT cap with no precision rectifier following it. While it may be distracting you get used to it. It actually helps with tiny targets as the overshoot is louder and longer than the dipping tone.
Have a look at the beer can video, it's a rising pitch and only overshoots if the signal is gross.
Ferrous targets tend to produce a double tone, rise dip rise. It's a form of discrimination but cannot be relied on as very rusty iron can produce a single rising tone.

From the beer can video it is clear that low and high conductive targets react differently. Although this may help with small gold targets, I would think that pinpointing might be a bit of a problem.

Regarding the video showing the QED being ground balanced over hot ground - I notice that the bullet generates an audio signal as it enters the coil and also as it leaves. Is this a side effect of the ground balancing? Does the same thing happen for a U.S. nickel?

The Bully Mythology is a convenient scapegoat when things ain't going right. Sure, the patent can pump up the ego and rally the troops, but it ain't getting the job done. I can show my boss lots of patents and lots of photos, but what he wants to see are products. If all I got are patents and photos, I'd better look for another job.

While there's no question that Doug's MO is bragging (and just a coat-tail braggart at that), I suspect you'd like to go beyond that. Read post #76. Read it again. There's a lot to digest, and some of it don't go down easily. Forget about the Bully Mythology. Ditch the forum nonsense. Get to work, focus on what matters, finish it. Or not. Let it go. But don't just sit there and be a braggart, all that does is fuel the antics on Finders, and makes you look bad.
