If you don't exceed 10V, then there is no problem. If you exceed 10V, you will damage the part. What battery do you intend to use on the Minipulse?

I often use the STTH1L06.
Options for the charge pump:
ICL7660A (up to 12V)
ICL7662 (20V)
MAX1822 (16V)
LTC1044 (12V)
LTC1144 (18V)
You'll need to check data sheets to ensure suitability.

By the way, the IC you are looking for is MC14538, not MC14358. There are some available in ebay.
I just saw the datasheet and since my suplier have the CD4098 i thought that those could be uses.

By the way, the IC you are looking for is MC14538, not MC14358. There are some available in ebay.
