Only theoretical I think. Hard to build effective passive resonator at wavelength of approx. 30 kilometers. Moreover active elements still exist in different interactions of TX - RX shape and positions that acted in some directions as intensifier (as we can see on Aziz EM field presentations). Certainly there are still reserve in coil construction to achieve better (here from your suggested) "reflection" or direction, but with active, and not by additional (and surely heavy) passive elements.Originally posted by Fred View PostCould it be possible to reflect (deflect) all the "upward" field so it is only transmitted downside,in a similar principle of yagis antennas ? But as the dielcetric properties of the reflector would most probably be a problem , maybe an active device like in phased arrays?
After all, 50% of energy is lost in all those coils...just a thought, regards,
Fred.
Elements of Yagi are inductive resonator on selected wavelength and placed interacting according selected wavelength (not so MD coils - maybe except controversial nexus). Yagi field of use are cm and meters of primary stationary use, here we talking about kilometers of wavelength and never stationary. And coils are always too heavy yet without additional reflector.

What is this Aziz? UFO? I cannot see any coil.Other view, please!Originally posted by Aziz View PostHeureka! Now I have found a very well magnetic field profile for a difficult to build (tune/balance) coil system. This could be a reasonable coil for pin-pointing. Its maximum is on center.

MD's use only magnetic field effects - not electro-magnetic (EMF). As electro-magnetic fields has orthogonal magnetic and electric fields - MD's use only the magnetic part of effects. The magnetic field is not emitted and transfered as the EMF. I had enough time to play and develop some microwave antennas (Wi-Fi) last year. Some of you know 4nec2 and NEC2 perhaps.
Tomorrow, I will start with some prototypes. Then I will start my Laptop-Detector (at the moment a PC) and will do some measurements on coils.

I have now "The Coil"!

Ok to all,TNX for answers.Originally posted by Aziz View PostMD's use only magnetic field effects - not electro-magnetic (EMF). As electro-magnetic fields has orthogonal magnetic and electric fields - MD's use only the magnetic part of effects.
In that case what happens if we "block" the upper field with a magnetic screen ? Lightweight magnetic screens materials do exists, but i dont actually know what happens to a magnetic field in presence of such materials.

Fred.

Yes, agree, to detect target are effective (better to say inductive) only magnetic component of EMF, but when we feed one coil with AC current (as in MD) surroundings output are always EMF, the same by MD coils. It is easy to modulate MD signal and detect such radio wave by simple antenna detector. Even not need to modulate, we can just put near to working coil one transistor radio and hear singing of signal harmonics. Only when we feed coil by constant DC current, surroundings output is clear solely magnetics field, but unusable to detect anything. Cause only changeable magnetic field can induce eddy currents in targets.Originally posted by Aziz View PostMD's use only magnetic field effects - not electro-magnetic (EMF). Congratulation for "The Coil", Aziz.Do you need some good targets?

In this case we will detect by MD coil only magnetic screen which act as attenuator of magnetic field, nothing else. Magnetics screen act more as "vacuum cleaner for magnetic field" and not as a magnetic field reflector. If screen is not in plastic foil dispersed ferrite powder, but alloy it can produce some signal by induced eddy current, but this is not amplification of MD power.Originally posted by Fred View PostOk to all,TNX for answers.

Thanks, and yes sir (many gold nuggets or coins please)!Originally posted by WM6 View PostCongratulation for "The Coil", Aziz. Do you need some good targets?

I have increased the number of windings and current flow. Really impressive cross section of the magnetic field density.Attached Files

I thought absorbtion was not involved here. But it makes sense .
Aziz, this looks really impressive!Originally posted by Aziz View PostI have increased the number of windings and current flow. Really impressive cross section of the magnetic field density.

Hi WM6,
No! I have the best coil ever - but not yet built.Originally posted by WM6 View PostAziz, try this. Novel coil design. Best coin coil ever.

WM6, your proposal is a simplified omega coil. You do not believe? Just look to the magnetic fields...

Following this idea, we could get this coil:
The DO coil
Easy to build.

Your proposal is not efficient. I am coding some coefficient factors on the coils at the moment. Next time, I can present the efficient/coupling factors. So we can directly compare coils together and we can work out best coils ever designed.Originally posted by Fred View PostFollowing this idea, we could get this coil:
