    OK Geo,

I was just trying to help you with the learning curve. I have tried many winding values. The ones I stated are what works best. By the way my toronado coils have a .440uH RX and I've tested several. Don't know why your coil is lower?

      Hi Bob.
Maybe there is difference at the measure instruments. I measured again the Tx resistance and it is 1.8R not 1.6 that i wrote (sorry mistake). My inductance meter is a cheap instrument. I made what i saw at instrument...
Of course i did not say that you have not right.
Any advice from you is welcome

        Hi.
I sprayed the coils with Graphit33. Can somebody to tell me who must be the resistance per inch of the shielding graphite, so to calculate how many times to spray the coils.

        Regards

Hi GEO, I can not help but appreciate it if you posted your results when done with the coil, a greeting.
sure you've seen, but just in case http://www.geotech1.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15791

            Hi geminis74.
Sure.. when i"ll finish the coil i will inform all forum. I sprayed every coil 4 times with graphite33 and now i have a resistance about 1.8k/". I put the coils in the housing, i fixed it after the null and now it is ready for the resin..... but i have not resin . This time i am busy, so i can't looking for resin, maybe next week. Of course i took some photos at any construction stage.....

            Regards

              Hi.
I finished the construction of coil.
I need to put resin also, but this is not problem. Today, after the null i tried it. Inside Lab results was very good. There are some place in the lab where there was not erratic signal from economy lights.... power supplies etc.
Generally i am very glad with this 15" coil. I will go out at shops to find resin glue to fix it, so to go for really test at farms.

              Thanks all for your help.....

              Regards

Some days ago, i finished my coil.
I had a problem with the existing coil preamplifier, so i made another new with NE5534 until to receive the AD797 that i ordered via ebay.
The original ampl some times works and other times not works. So i had the ability to compare the two preamplifiers. NE5534 gives at least 20% lower depth, maybe from bigger noise.
But the main problem is other...., the weight...... After the resin, the coil is very heavy. I weighed it and it is 1040 gr. The same time i had in the lab some coils so i weighed them. What i found????
My 15" coil is 1040 gr...
The Whites Blue Max 950 is 420gr
The Whites BlueMax 1500 is 1100gr, yes it is more heavy than mine
The Minelab Tornado 1000 without the cable is 430gr
The TDI 7.5" is 310gr and
The TDI 12" is 510 gr.

If somebody has a WOT 15" coil, i want to tell me who is the weight of this coil.

                Regards

                  Hi,
                  Geo.
                  Nice work.
Can you tell me how you null the coil?
I see some kind of deformation on RX centre.
Weight is ok.Its big coil.37cm right?

                    Hi .
Weight is not good, maybe the balance point is wrong.
Beleive me, it looks very heavy.
Now about the null.... i connected the Txcoil to the sovereign and i connected the oscilloscope to the coil (one channel to Tx so to see the phase between Tx and Rx and the other channel to the preamplifier out). Null was very critical, and when i put the resin i destroed a little the null. After it i connected a wire in series with the Rx winding and i move it until to see again a good null. Again some resin and it is OK.

                    Regards

                        Hi KT315.
I took the coil housing from a friend. He bought it from Bulgaria. But i have long time to see the site of this Bulgaria guy. If i will find it, i will inform you

                        Regards

"corps" / "Korpus" mean here "body of / for" or "housing of / for" or something like this.
