vers. 3.1 is released some minor bugs from v 3.0 removed

that what i hear from german forum sound much better with vers. 3.1 now

if i have time today i will update mine now

    kind regards
    Just updated to V3.1 !
Will see the improvements today or tomorrow outdoor.
Generally i am satisfied with V3.0 now, spent several days outdoor with it and sort of used on it already.
In V3.0 i also noticed something that may be considered as bug; when i am working in GMP for some time and switch it suddenly to Gmax: it may
continue to work fine or it may "choke" for few seconds producing no response on targets!?
After few swings with coil over target it returns to normal behavior. This is not frequent but may occur once or twice in a day.
Now is updated to V3.1, will see if "problem" will repeat or not.
Everything else worked just fine in V3.0 in last several days.
Pretty satisfied because i had many nice finds with it.
I miss possibility to overwrite existing programs with new adjustments, instead i must copy existing one on empty place and save it with different adjustments.
Not a problem at all, just small remark.
Because now original 10 programs looks pretty useless staying there and occupying memory.
I never work with original set up at those programs. Always rise Sens to 96, always lower GB below 84 etc..etc...
If i don't copy those to new memory location and save them as "new" program; i will lose them once i switch off the Deus.
But, considering that we have 8 empty memory locations; it is not problem at all, 8 memory places are much more than enough.
Overall; pretty good job by XP! Bravo!

Second try with V3.0 on the field today.
Finally i realized what was the "catch", the other day;when i was confused with V3.0 behavior!
It is indeed so much calmer on iron trash in soil and that was much confusing for me than.
It is not loosing depth at all now despite the "feeling".
In V2.0 audio carried a bit of iron sound in most of situations where small bronze coins (with usual calcite layers) were detected.
Now in V3.0 there is no such iron part in audio. That's why it behaves calmer and more silent.
I wander should i add more iron volume in audio or not now?
Anyway; today i had several significant finds with V3.0 which showed that depths are not affected because of iron sound absence, on which i was used with V2.0
Audio on such coin now is more sharp and "plonky" than in V2.0.
In V2.0 such audio was smoother and carried some bits of doubtful iron part.
Deeper coins than were possible to be missed because iron part of audio was rising more respectively to coin depths.
Now, in V3.0 shallow coins produce sharp and consistent audio while deep coins may produce a bit "plonky" and maybe sort of "dashed" audio.
I think that adding iron volume may solve this "issue" or just leaving it the way it is and adopt that as new "rule".
My impressions now are much better. I am starting to learn it again from a start.
Discrimination is more accurate than in V2.0, no doubts about that.
Gmax and Relic programs are lunatic deep!!! Wow!
In V2.0 i used almost only GMP and Fast. Now in V3.0 i think i will more frequently use Gmax!
Today i discovered 7 very deep small roman coins and one roman stylus, on terrain which was completely "exhausted" with other types of detectors!
But i see i will have to spend several days more to master it fully as i did with V2.0.
    V3.0 rules!

Yes, last several days i used again V2.0 to set up some references on my testing field.
Now i am again up to update to V3.0 and return to same test field and do the detailed tests.
I am sure V3.0 is carrying lot of improvements, but i was unprepared the other day to test it accurately.
That's why V3.0 surprised me and i was confused, because improvements are not just "cosmetically" as maybe i expected earlier.
I also founded out that problems i had with update are related only to my desktop PC and NOT to XP update software.
Yesterday i checked all the 3 codes (V1.0, V2.0 and V3.0) with my laptop and all the three performed well without any problem.
It was kind a funny to return to V1.0 and see how it started in the past!
Right now is on V2.0 and later afternoon i am planing to finally return to V3.0.
I can't exactly tell why my desktop is making me problems during update?
It is fresh installed Win XP SP3 with all the system tools needed.
Must be something still related to Net Framework or something similar.
I never really wanted to be more deeply involved in understanding of such things but usually i do accept all those Microsoft "patches" and updates automatically.
On laptop is also XP SP3 installed and yet it is not making me no problems at all?
Anyway... V3.0 is not just any "cosmetically" novelty but quite new thing with lot of system differences, as i understood so far.
Deus Fast and GMP differs in behavior from V2.0 version and will need me to involve additional effort to adapt on those.
From this point i can only say that new extended GB ranges will make me problems and give me lot of manual "work" because i am used to work only with manual GB and frequent
    adjusting during searching.
Everything else suits me just fine, especially Deus Gold program which is something that i really needed and missed so far.
I do suggest to every Deus user to update own machine and to start adapting, sooner the better.
Also will appreciate other experiences, tips and advices.

    Cheers!

So i wil beware to make a upgrade to a downgrade.

Some thing that is interesting for me on V3 are the free programm slots for individual programs.

Maybe you can compare next time a V2 fast mode with a V3 modified fast mode?

for myself and for my soil i think i will keep V2 after your report.

    thanks
I am old donkey with old habits. Maybe it is about me, fact that i can't accept novelties so easy!

I would suggest you to give it a try!
    Nothing you can do bad.
In case you don't like it; you can always return to V2.0
I tend to believe that error i got in process of "updating" it back to V2.0 is more likely tied to my system and not to Deus software.
I made some mess in my win system recently, something about .net framework or so.
Fact is that my "error"-ed update on V2.0 now is working good with no problems.
Later i might try to re-update it again using my laptop instead desktop.
Because i also had problems to update it on V3.0 from my desktop.
I warmly suggest you to try V3.0 and test it.
Because it may turn much better for you than for me, due logical differences between your and mine soils and conditions.
Don't be scared because nothing you can do wrong.
    Update is simple and fast.
I would also like to hear other experiences here too, would be educational and maybe helpful for me too.
I am not so easy giving up from V3.0 especially because of Gold program from V3.0 which i like much.
I returned to V2.0 just temporary, for several days, to recheck some things and to establish more relevant references.
Later i will probably return again to V3.0.
    Cheers!

One more thing, maybe more important!
V3.0 is definitely more silent on iron particles in soil... BUT it is also more "chatty" on soil itself!?
In V3.0 Deus Fast, with Sensitivity set at 96 now it is producing me much more "chatters" on heavy mineralized soil - than before in V2.0 version!
So it is a kind of funny (but not acceptable at all) situation; more silent on iron - more loud on mineralization!?!?
I didn't want to trim it much through menus and options; i just used the very same adjustments in very same programs, which i am used on from V2.0.
So all the things i done last couple days was just simple and plain compare.
I had extra comfort because my close pal is having Deus too, so we went outdoor with both versions, same programs, same adjustments ... with difference that he used V2.0 and i was using V3.0.
So we compared them on each possible signal we founded on soil.
Is there anything more relevant than that kind of compare?

Tough for me to explain. My English is not that good.
Somehow i feel that V3.0 differs much from V2.0, especially Deus Fast and GMP programs which i frequently am using.
For example Deus Fast; in V2.0 seems it was more accurate in VDI numbers. Also i could distinguish bad targets more easily in V2.0 Fast.
For example; bottle cap, rusty bottle cap with a bit of "colored" compound in alloy.
In V2.0 i could hear "iron" part of audio at the borders of detection, pretty clearly, VDI number vary from 89 to 92 and "iron" part of audio at borders of detection were direct prof that it is bottle cap.
In V3.0, in same Fast program with same adjustments, i miss that "iron" part of audio at detection borders and last couple days i dug lot of bottle caps, suspecting them as nice coins!
Second: manual GB-ing now in V3.0 is annoying much! Usually (in V2.0) i manually "slip" from 84 down to 76 in just 8 steps (8 pushes on GB knob)...
Now in V3.0 i have to push GB knob many more times from 84 down to 76 (just an example). Annoying, confusing and time consuming.
Next issue: both Deus Fast and GMP now in V3.0 are not producing me enough distinguishable audio on small bad bronze coins as it was the case in V2.0 programs.
Now i am confused much when checking the signal above such small and bad bronze coin.
Signal is not continual with "iron chats" but now signal is broken much more and i can't find center of the coin at all.
They said: V3.0 is much calmer on iron now, yes i agree; it is true. But it is also much worse case now for us: experienced coinshooters!
Right now, V3.0 is more suitable for "american" way of coin shooting, where they (the americans) are limited to coin shoot only for large and clad coins which are dating "from yesterday" ! (xcuse moi, but that's a fact)
On extra small (4-10mm diamm) bronze coins, dated from I century and later, such V3.0 behavior is not acceptable at all.
Yesterday, walking with V3.0 on my old terrain, observing his "american" behavior: i had strong feeling that i actually am holding Garret in my hands - not XP.
Because majority of Garrets and White's are behaving exactly like that; completely deaf on European ancient finds, such are most popular Roman bronze coins.
So... shortly; V3.0 is deafer than V2.0!
V2.0 is still unbeaten relating to small and extra small bronze coins!

Hopefully i did cleared up this a bit to you?
    Cheers!

I did it late last night. Now is V2.0 again.
But even that went with problems.
At the very end of updating to V2.0 PC updater reported me problems and stopped at some 85% !?
When i unplug Deus and power it ON it is working ok, despite previous error.
I guess previous V3.0 left some traces in memory or what; so crc must not be the same or something.
I did several skim indoor tests and checks and seems V2.0 is fully operational, despite that error.
    Seems everything is alright.

Bad news from me; i can't adapt nor adopt V3.0 so easy...
I will return on V2.0 tonight.
Last couple days i spent my time on several different terrains trying to get used on V3.0.
Only two programs i am aimed on are Fast and GMP.
Those don't work the same on V3.0 as they work on V2.0... period!
Fast on V2.0 is my most favorite program ever.
On V3.0 i can't recognize it form time to time!?
It would need pages to write here, me to explain why i think those are not the same.
I don't have will for such labor so shortly i am only saying: i can't adapt nor get used on V3.0 so far.
Only thing i will be sorry about is Gold program which i like much on V3.0.
I wander if there is any chance to add Gold program on V2.0 ?

BTW just compared Fisher F70 and Deus on testing field.
Fisher F70 is cute machine but far bellow Deus's league, no doubts at all.

Forgot to mention; a friend with Deus V2.0 was yesterday with me too.
We intentionally went there with two versions, to compare.
A friend "located" strong mineralization at some spot on soil.
We knew it was large hotrock, because we intentionally picked that location.
So he called me there when he "located" that mineralization.
His Deus with V2.0 and GMP program was "wheeeeow" -ing all the time above that spot.
I approached there with V3.0 and GMP with same adjustments.
My Deus with V3.0 was not "wheeeeow" -ing there almost at all.
Maybe produced just few mum "whhhisss" at the borders of detection.
That was most direct test and proof that V3.0 is much calmer.
Later we had some finds. Some coins.
All the finds were regular (meaning those would be founded with majority of MD models) except one coin.
That particular coin was fully covered with hotrocks and iron particles.
    Depth was 15cm.
V2.0 indicated it as "semi colored" item with clean tone in the middle and dirty (iron. low pitched) tone at borders.
V3.0 indicated it as excellent target with nice and clean tone through whole detection area.
    VDI number was 98!
    ...
    Will continue testing it.

Yesterday went outdoor to test V3.0
Overall impressions leads to decision: i will keep it!
I am not sure if is just my imagination or is it reality; but all the time working in Fast and GMP i had impression that those are not performing the same as at V2.0
Can't explain exactly why i had such impression.
Only noticeable difference is that those now are much calmer and quieter on small iron particles in soil.
Also i have impression that audio is a bit sharper now.
    Maybe just my imagination?
Yes i had more "labor" knob-ing GB... more than i like!
    I really like Gold program!
It simply can't miss a thing in soil!
With IAR set to 0 there is no audio discrimination, only VDI numbers are indicating a target.
With IAR set to 5 there is audio discrimination too.
Audio is crackling than and that reminds me much on Minelab's which i used in the past.
With note that V3.0 is much deeper than those Minelab's.
I think i will love Gold program much, later in my work.
Right now i feel like i am again at beginning in learning to mastering Deus, because all the time yesterday i had strong impression that it is not the same machine.

Is it deeper now? Seems a bit.
Is it calmer? Yes it is!
Is it more stable on soil? Yes it is.
Still is to early to say something more relevant.
But shortly; yes i do like it.
