    Hi to all.

I have made a pinpointer for my PIM-2 shortly before.

    And video:

    I used 330uH mini inductor.

    Best regards.

If you cannot detect a coin on it's edge you need a smaller coil, or a very well made bigger one.

You won't lose as much depth as you think with a smaller coil, because the valuable items can be detected and detected deeper.

    Cool project.
    Yes i agree wiht you.

I don't know is this jus problem in my PIM-2 or major problem of this detector.

    Thanks Detecto
Perhaps the design of the detector does not provide a low delay. Could be the cause of the poor sensitivity to small coins or gold ring.

Hi Jose, generaly v02 don't have discrimination (if i remember)
v05 have discrimination good one, and this is last published software for now, of course it is demo software, demo and full version don't have diferences except limit for 500 on of switching.
elbombaci also made software V06, i don't know anything abouth that versionn, you can contat him for details.

Now my PIM2-V05 recognizes a 1 Euro coin at 30cm with default settings. First field tests showing very good results. Every stronger signal was a hit. To get it working like this, I used CAT5 cable with 4 turns 1m each, so it then had a resistence of 4 Ohms (3 turns was no good). Everything else on PCB is like in the schematic. Just to mention all 0.25 Watt resistors have a tolerance of 1%.

    Gold ring 2g abouth 17cm
    1e coin 32-33cm
    1l paint box over 1m
    pertinex 12*12cm over 1.2m
    Computer case over 1.7m
I am planing to make one round coil 50cm, and one square coil 1x1m.
I tested it indore, and i have a lot of EMI, so it couses a little instability outdore will be better. What version of software do you have?
Generaly i am satisfied with PIM-2.

can you change your md mosfet to bup314 ?
it used in miner 4 .
miner 4 is not a good md its hex design to not work deliberately
but bup 314 is a good component and in my mind it must be a good project for you

change your md coil driver and see it change very strong tx power

    Hi
I recently built the Minipulse 3 with added refinements and the overall performance is as spec from Pulsdetektor workshop which is quite good.
Could i also use bup but 314 fet as replacment to try and also would the coil specified here work with it.
Just looking for that extra mile
    Thanks in advance

Take my hat off to you, theres little doubt in my mind you have taken The PI format to a new level, whats the betting you have manufactures keeping a very close eye on this project.
Its a good thing for all conserned here that you have made it public because it keeps the wolves at bay.
I for one will be making this detector soon as you have it done and dusted with final lay files.
Have you desided wether in the fucture to make the hex files public for us or are you keeping it closed shop so to speak to get some exspenses back.
If the latter any idea on cost for fucture supply of fully flashed Atmega8.

Anyway a big thankyou for sharing your expert knowledge

    Regards
