Sheesh, your detector knobs sure look the same. Must be some outfit in China making boatloads of those things ...

Your solution is nice and simple, I like that. The thought of greasing up the shaft pots did cross my mind, but I didn't
have any idea of how well it would keep water out in surf or depth. So I decided not to do that.

How deep you dive with your detector?

I picked up a really nice basic Ikelite cube. Small, 1/4" thick with no lens ports to cover. A bit heavy but rated to 200' under water depth.

bought Ikelite vintage one from US seller at ebay. thank you lots for the suggection.

I got some test on ordinary external pot and found that it survive my water pressure test..

Hello,
I'm collecting components to build an MPP detector.
I was wondering whether these Bourne 3310 IP67 pots would be suitable?

They are quite small and I'm not sure what power rating is required for the MPP pots.
Also, the MPP build instructions call for a 250K audio threshold pot. The Bourne 3310 is only available in 200K and 500K. Which one of these will work without limitation?

There is absolutely minimal power flowing through any of the pots, so the Bourns pots will definitely be suitable.
For the audio (threshold) pot I would select the 200k, although either would probably work ok.

Thanks kt315. I'll definitely try that. I have some APM Hexseals coming to try too. Looks easy to make most potentiometers IP67 or better.
