pin 13 is the 1st sample pulse point...i just soldered carefully a small piece of resistor wire to pin 13 of the 4066 as a test point for the oscilloscope probe.

No problem getting the probe on the components, It is just my inexperience not knowing where those points are. It has been quite some time since I have used an O-scope, but I am enjoying learning more about it. I just wish the yui.yahooapis would not bring this forum to a screaming halt. There are times I wait over a minute for a page on here to load.

Most of the information is here. However, it is scattered everywhere and is normally only brought up when there is trouble. I am not having any trouble so to speak, was mostly curious what higher/lower values of the dampener resistor signified with the coil. I am enjoying the learning experience! It would be nice to see a write up of using the scope to test and check these pi machines out. Test points, screen shots of what it should look like etc.

                    kt315,
I don't recall yanking your chain. What is your deal? You act as if someone doesn't know what you know they are mentally deficient. I asked a simple question to begin with, you act as if I asked you the entire content the library if congress. Guess my stay at this forum is going to be short lived. This is supposed to be where all the "smart" people hang out, this is why I joined the forum in the first place. I figured this would be the absolute best place to get quick information. As for the few that did offer a little bit of insight, I appreciate you for the help. Folks like kt315 should just not respond ....

                        Hi cddz
I have been reading up on all the threads here while I wait for my circuit boards. As you have already stated you have been looking for and finding info spread around. Have you noticed that some of the senior members here do not always post their comments as we would expect. These guys are not always perfect with their english and when having a slight poke can be taken wrongly. Have you noticed that kt315 has been answering questions?
Is it possible you can turn down your own sensitivity? (That's a joke mate!)

                        Chill and enjoy.

                        C.

whats your deal , if you read the linked posts that KT315 posted to you,
                          you might learn something
nobody here claims to be an expert

No deal really, just trying to learn. Maybe I took his comments the wrong way. I have been searching and reading all that I can when this site allows it :P.
May as well post a few more pictures of the build, not sure what I am going to do with it, have too many detectors already.... just something to pass the boredom. The labels are temporary. As far as messing with the coil dampening too much I am going to finish the coil off first. Just wound a 9.5 inch spiral, gets 14 inch on my wedding band for now.

Used a 3 pin connector so I could use the battery pack from my Macro C77. I will make another when I get a chance for 3 x 18650

Everyone here knows KT315, and he can unintentionally appear abrupt. A lot gets lost in translation, so don't take the comments personally.

By the way, comparing the TX oscillator output with the preamp output allows you to determine the earliest possible sample time. You should then move the channel 2 probe from the preamp output to U7a pin13 (which is the main sample pulse). You can then adjust the delay time to the required value.

                                hello cddz,

nice build, which type of Hammond enclosure do you use 1455xx?
at first look i think the is enough space too but one pack o 3*18650 with internal charger bord you could add a siwtch on/off/on to selct between detector on or charger on
