    "..vacum forming.."
Maybe you'll laugh, but is there any chance to order just plastic/Al enclosures from there?
BTW how about opening legal assembly here in Eastern Europe...you know: shop, service and possibly some production section. This area is not supported well, yet interest in this subject is HUGE and market is growing...
Obvious proof for that is rising number of enthusiasts like myself, making almost everything in home production. Reason for that (at least my initial reasons) is not to make some local money and spoil job to legal manufacturers..but being unable to reach western market, all those nice shops in EU, all the customer support there....
White's metal detector is not so expensive there, yet when arrive here to local customer it's price is almost doubled, due mentioned reasons...so.
Smart marketing would lead to tendecies to cover new markets. 3rd world markets are young and growing, lot of potentials here.
Personally i would like to see White's in my neighbourhood asap.
Even if there is some chance to join and cooperate i would be even more happy...

Just few thoughts...no need to die laughin' !

Carl, what parts White's does itself of and what ones does order on a side of? I mean shafts, coil boxes, PCB's etc.

I've been thinking about starting a blog on the White's site just for this purpose. I think a lot of people would be interested in this.

Meanwhile, I've been there 3-1/2 months now, and been completely swamped with work. Currently working about 70 hrs a week, not including field testing. However, my family is still back in NC so I get 1 week per month to go back & visit. This is until my daughter finishes high school in May, and everyone moves to Oregon.

So what have I been doing at White's? A little bit of everything... supporting older products, helping with new designs, field testing, learning new circuits, developing new coils, and even a tiny bit of new product development.

We recently had all of our distributors in for a conference, and one of the main topics of discussion was new product direction. I presented a lot of possibilities (based on my own experiences) and heard a lot of feedback & suggestions from them. They're a great bunch to work with and it was a very productive meeting.

One of my top goals is to get a more regular release of new products that better reflect customer demands. One of the first things I did was to create a new "Talk to White's" forum where anyone can post ideas, feedback, or gripes.

Obviously, I cannot offer any info on ongoing designs! But, needless to say, we have several things in development, with several more about to start. I'm pretty excited about what the next 2 years is going to bring.

    - Carl

    Hi Carl:

I hope you can give us a little diary of what you are doing and learning and contributing, without giving up any secrets, maybe update once a week. We would be very interested in how the industry works.

Thanks for keeping this great board going. If there is any way to search for messages with attachments, that would be really useful.

    Cheers!
