Hey ronin - thx - nice answer but no reason to get upset! Keep it cool!

OK, your links tell us the Jeosonar costs new 4800 TL in Turkey - about 2500 Euro. And buying used units is a special and often critical case.

I know you mentioned Nokta with "digging out nothing", but the ground balancing everywhere is similar.

Distinguishing metal through thick hot-rocks or mineralized stones is a special case. And gold is not always the same - 365 gold alloy contains almost 2/3 of other metal.

OK, the Radar issue is something else but has just indirectly to do with monitor resolution. Jeohunter displays the grafical output of the electronical data including measured values.

Nokta claims the screen will display at least silhouttes and shapes of the real form a buried object has. As example those pan or golden frog. Does it really work?

    > About their big coils, huh, try to carry for some hours them you will see how it suffers

Not really - 'cause most of the time you have to dig stuff out - and how much that "hurts" also depends on someones strenght. It's the wrong way limiting coil-size just because some guys can't bear it for a longer time.

Please post your video link again so there is no misunderstanding. The turkish video from the makrodetectörs test parcour (looking like some sort of bridge) with those stone steps and holes in the ground isn't yours? So please show us your test video, even if its Nokta.

    > 5lt tin with %90 sensitivity max. distance on air test 120cm!! You think this is good distance for 35x45cm dia. coil??

This depends on alot factors "what is good", but the values on the Nokta page tell:

    10 x 10cm: 110 cm
    20 x 20cm: 140 cm

If someone likes to buy a detektor with around 15'' coil that goes to 2meters he can! But I doubt those will find a 60x60cm crate at: 270 cm (all values Nokta in air with 35x45cm coil - see homepage)

Dear ronin, please don't forget those are no toys but specialized for deep search, even if you have bad experience under usual conditions.

Those large coils aren't made just out of fun but to break up the depth-borders others couldn't! This is pioneer-work and sometimes also leads to new problems the actual mainstream-technic doesn't have. Every detector has his drawbacks and claiming much better search-results as the practical truth - not only Nokta does it. This is a problem since a long time because of the many different test- and search-situations.

I'm shure you will sell that full Nokta package for 1500 Euro but I won't sell my Jeohunter, I even wouldn't give it back for the full purchase-price.

Dear funfinder, first of all, you misunderstood about soil digging. I mentioned about Nokta's device. That is %100 unbalanced device in highly mineralized soils. Because even the producer could not make correct adjustment to discriminate GOLD as "gold" under the hot rock. Gold has seen as iron, under the hot rock by this device. Therefore i doubt about the device which is not be able to set properly even by the producer.

Abt the screen resolution i meant something else, you mislead it also. Here Makro and Nokta sell these toys as RADAR. Ground penetrating radar.
With this much bad res. how they can even claim it is a GPR?? Thus it is not GPR, very clear, right? So at least these people must not cheat costumers by stupid claims.

About the price, believe me it's army shaped, screened tinsel unit does not worth to it's performance.
9cm dia. cannonball will be easily picked up by many cheap vlf detectors from that 60cm distance. Beliave me my gmaxx2, nrg, oldie white's eagle spectrum will kill it from that distance. And even they are less than half price of this device.
About their big coils, huh, try to carry for some hours them you will see how it suffers. At least big coils of Pulse Metal Detectors are lighter and easier to carry.

The video i put to Turkish thunting forum shows how simple metal detector it is. Why you exaggareted it? 5lt tin with %90 sensitivity max. distance on air test 120cm!! You think this is good distance for 35x45cm dia. coil?? And it discriminates as non-ferrous metal for this tin. Failed absolutly.
Then try gmaxx2 and NRG with 27cm dia. coils to see how simple units beat it!

P.S: Makro is given to prosecution from some of the costumers. 1 of them i know personally very close. Why is given? The things what they claim while selling is not correct in real ground conditions and it is not a radar nor jeo...something!!

By the way, my 1 friend is selling his Golden King DPR full set for 1500 Euro. If anybody wants i can arrange to get in touch with him. But frankly i do not recommend these toys

Ofc i m gonna give right now below:
Find information, resources and relevant links for kijiji.com.tr. This domain may be for sale.

And there are many more in Turkish Thunting forums but i ain't put them all here it will take enough space in the forum. The last link has enough 2nd hand of this unit.
These prices are without bargain up till now. If you bargain you can get almost %20 more discount from fed up people

    Article means what exactly?

If you want the user's opinions who are using in Turkiye then i will advise you join to defineyolu.com . But unfortunately all are in Turkish. You may mislead the meaning of the discussions by translating google.

I have to come to or in southern california. Looks like there are naked golden girls buried at the beaches!

    @ronin

Thank you for that opinion and what you know directly from Turkey about Golden King and Jeosonar - it will keep the discussion alive.

All what you told may be true from your perspective of view but there are missing alot important points:

I'm talking about the Jeohunter now, the international model of Jeosonar delivered with 35x45cm coil:

Most treasure-hunters aren't used to the larger dimensions concerning weight and technical coordination aka computer-steering. Simply too much for them and too expensive.

Wanna take an easy to handle detector that should go deep on little stuff like coils or rings, 'cause they think those makes 80% of all funds anyway.

Next as you told "digging empty soils" results in not understanding cavity function and Ground Balance.
The "No Signal Value" has to be exactly in the middle of metal and mineral or cavity. If somebody adjusts his detector that it is quiet on mineral level of course it will detect already "metal" where just minerals are missing. So far I never digged out "nothing", and in my region are alot of mineralic stones scattered over the ground, even deep.

    The Screen Resolution:
Who care's if it's just 240x320 or 480x640 if the display only has 15cm diagonale?! For the grafical elements it's good enough, noone wants to watch Blue-Ray discs there.

Thank you for the video you put on the internet - because of course it demonstrates how deep the Jeosonar goes on larger objects. Even with 80% and Iron off - what I'm using most of the time because of high sensitivity.

Most people out there are used to small coils for smaller stuff. If they want to find large and deep objects they have to think different. The Jeohunter is a very good compromise, because it also detects small coins if they're not too deep, but the main orientation are funds from 5cm to 50cm in size.

    About the price:
I knew it already that you can get such used MDs in Turkey for about 1000-1500 Euros. But those have turkish firmware and language, you have no warranty or it is very complicated and you have to pay import taxes and other stuff. So this is no real good alternative if you don't live directly in Turkey.

The price is high, no question, and the Noktas price is much too expensive, but the development and "selfbuilding" of these units also costs alot money. This is no mass-production like with DVD-Players.

I hardly doubt Nokta is lansing that makrodedektor is a better company. Those Family Members did split up and created their own products and organisation, even if they're similar.

    > Depths: Both are the same, In %80 sensitivity of Nokta max. detection distance on air for 23cm dia. plate is 70cm with 38x45cm diameter coil.

No, my Jeohunter detects a cannonball of 9cm diameter in 60cm distance at 80% sensitivity and iron off - at 100% and iron on it's about 85cm!

20cm ironplate is from 100cm to 130cm depending on sensitivity and iron on/off.

Why people can't understand the simple fact, that the deeper a radiation field for detection has to go, the more power and coil-size is needed? The real Nintendo Detectors are those with stupid 9V blocks! For those who want everything totally light and easy going. This stuff is for beaches, shores or sunny meadows but not for serious treasure hunting.

If you take a closer look to the Jeohunter the weight is not really large. A powerful accu-pack has his weight and a large coil incl. holder that doesn't crash by touching a little stone also has to be stable enough.

    > Very pitty, because a simple vlf metal detector which has also 11" coil detects not less than this distance for 1/6 price.

This may be, but you forgot that your distance is not really correct (at least not for Jeohunter) and for those cheap detectors the depth limit is 1,5m or less the absolute max.

Most of the real good new detectors from known brands will cost you 2000 Euro to 3000 Dollars - finding coins really up to 50cm and have good discrimination and other important stuff.

btw. makrodedektor is creating already a new and still better firmware for Jeosonar / Jeohunter.

Because this is very powerful hightec and if such a machine is too complicated or heavy for successful usage, simply the user is to weak! As always in life: If something is too strong, you are too weak...

Well well well, here we go again with Nokta affairs. In my country(Turkiye), Nokta and Makro has a very bad reputation dear friends. Must make this clear also, Makro and Nokta owners are from the same family and they first sold to people Nokta's toys then when people come to know that Nokta's toys are rubbish then make ads Makro products are better . So costumer get confused and again goes to their laps.

I saw both Nokta Golden King DPR(full set with camera, gas sensor and big coils), Makro Jeosonar with all coils.

Coils are the same(except Jeosonar has 1 another smaller coil), ATARI toy is not the same, Nokta's ATARI Screen resolution is better, but very huge and heavy, neck killer . If you press the push buttons, they give Atari sounds such as shooting an enemy warplane.

Makro Jeosonar is smaller and smarter as well. But the resolution of the screen is horrible.

Both are so heavy that may make another Arnold Schwarzenegger on you

Depths: Both are the same, In %80 sensitivity of Nokta max. detection distance on air for 23cm dia. plate is 70cm with 38x45cm diameter coil. Very pitty, because a simple vlf metal detector which has also 11" coil detects not less than this distance for 1/6 price.

The video link that 1 friend in here put from Turkish thunting forum has been put by me. One of user published it on internet. In that video the sensitivity of Jeosonar(jeohunter) %90-test on air.

If you search on Turkish 2nd hand selling websites, you will find lots of Nokta Golden King and Makro Jeosonar even for 2000 Lira=1000 Euro. Most of the people are trying to get rid of these toys. If you are lucky and find 1 non-aware person who is rookie on thunting, you are selling. Otherwise every1 is keeping themselves away from these products in Turkiye.
Specially with Nokta, people are suffering of digging empty soils(no even metal piece).

This is Nokta's another trick for you guyz by lansing Makro as better firm and product manufacturer, after being known Nokta is really making furnished scams.

    Kind regards

    Jeo-what ever

Thanx for the entertainment! this is a very hot thread. I agree with WM6...there is a lot of crap out there & yeah the M6 rocks.

I've got some magic potion....if you drink it when you walk over a deep valuable artifact your wiener will get hard and then point right at it.
The only problem is if you have a 3 inch wiener your depth will be severely
    limited!

    Dear Funfinder,

Thank you for your test report of the Jeo hunter.
I am interested in buying one but are still in doubt. Would it be a better detector and better deal than the Minelab GPX-4500?
    What would be the difference?

What story? Hadn't time to watch the vids yet. But your info sounds interresting.

How's about price, totally silent threshold, signalizing, mineralisation, ordering, diff. coils, adjust-possibilities, weight, warranty, stability???

I doubt the china coils'r really so good, but perhaps easier to handle and because of the cheap price a nice option for semi-pro-beginners.

Jeohunter is also extremly sensitive - from watch-battery to Power-Line pylon (tested yesterday - 4m at 90% sens) - the whole spectrum!

This detector is not a two box type!
Simply is a old type VLF detector (like the Whites at '80s) and the coil that used at this test, has "only" 40cm diameter .
And i can tell you for sure that is extremely sensitive..
But this is finally a good or bad thing? , well, that is another big story...

Thanx for tha info, you are really good informed.

But China is not always "China", concerning "quality".
Alot famous brands get their electronical parts from there or have their plants in or around China.

Mainboards or other computer-electronic from China doesn't have bad quality - if they have to produce at high standards.

You just can't compare such 2 box detector with Jeohunter. If you built a house and wanna check there isn't any big bomb down it's ok, but if you run through fields and woods you'll miss most of the targets or won't find any real large objects at all. 2box is a special detector like the airport-walkthrough ones.

We all should be thankful makrodedektor did invent such 2in1 Jeohunter detector, even if it's sometimes a bit hard to use compared to the light-weight and small MDs. At least it was something real new!

Below's a picture what I found in the last 2 days...

    @ WM6
Yeah, the engraved horse with rider is interresting - perhaps some of the saracen or cursaders.
Cuff links is a good beginning - I also found a pair of those 15 years ago.

Hey Bill, thanks for the links.
Much better than the whites, garret and fisher crap for instance...

Chinese are smart. They finally figured out that a 2-box receiver can do wonders in terms of ...modest long range detection. And also, I see this device has a nice circuit and probably really cheap, which is very good for the general consumer.

Humm.. China and Brazil will soon take over the world...

About the big limitations in Slowenia:
If you're thrill-seeker enough simply search treasures and don't care about the rest, or visit neighbour-lands like Austria, Croatia or Italy. Beaches, seas, castles, old roads or houses, everywhere you can find something.

    > I have a well-equipped electronic lab, which gives me more pleasure than most hipothetical found gold coins.

A big electronic lab also is a big treasure! Can give you much possibilities, fun and living out your creative abilities.

But those gold coins aren't just hypothetical:

Electronical experiments and creating is fantastic for winter-time, but it should also lead to real funds. Otherwise you're stuck in "practial theory" or how I should call it. Finding never lost metal objects this or that far in front of your selfbuilt coils in your experiments- and work-room, but never outside "in the wild". Of course it's great you help with your work creating better detectors, but you also should have the more direct fun and find real treasures! Because that's the definitive reason of all your afforts.

Get yourself both sides of success - electronically AND directly related to the inventions intention! And then you also can understand much better the arguments of the "real" treasure hunters and their needs.
