Yes, that is correct. No more iron masking (like it is the case at TGSL). Now i can hear all the signals, some of those clear and some of those mixed - just like you pointed.

I will not be able (nor i have such ambitions) to sell my hand made abroad, nor it would be some more serious production!
I just intend to keep it "secret" for a while, until i design another version.
It will be pretty short time until i share here current version.
Usually i don't talk in public in advance, like i did now. But this new modification is very funny and i couldn't resist - i simply had to say.
Best suggestion for you is to start making IGSL that is already presented here. Later you will easy rearrange, modify and apply new changes on it.
That will cost you even much less than to buy detector made by somebody else.

Making TGS/TGSL coils is pretty trivial and exhausting (expensive too) job for me lately. It is OK if man want to make one coil for own needs. But if somebody need more coils (like me) periodically, than it can be pretty annoying and time consuming. Not to mention fact, that no matter how good coil was made - it will always stay "hand made" with risk to be out of standards and norms (tough to make 200 identical coils in home made arrangement).
So i was thinking to modify IGSL for use with some standard commercial coil.
IGSL turned to be much better than i anticipated at the beginning, so i intend to make dozen more in the future.
But i want to void to make coils for it.
So... i was thinking to adapt it for use with some original coil. First came to my mind was my most favorite Minelab TS1000 coil! Best ever!
So.. today i made modifications at IGSL and adapted it to work with TS1000 (as well as with TS800 and similar coils for Musketeer).
IGSL is working splendid with TS1000! Depths are great, GEB also, Disc also. Stability too.
But what is craziest part - is working frequency: 8.5kHz !!!!
Completely out of any logic!! But it is working SPLENDID!
Only oscillator part changed and replaced with different one - nothing else changed on IGSL, not even 15nF at RX input!! So.. everything else is unchanged, only TX oscillator and output is different. Frequency is different (from 14.6kHz down to 8.5kHz) and performances are like never before!? Already made and tested. Already checked outdoor on real soil, today. So... i would really enjoy to hear comments from others - especially from those "simulator&spice lovers" here!

I will not post new schematic for now. I have some commercial plans and intentions with this now, so hopefully you will understand my reasons. But i can promise to post and share it later, in next few months, just as i sell few devices to cover my expenses and work that i involved so far. I am hoping that this is pretty fair? In meantime i would like to hear comments and suggestions!

Everything that is applied to IGSL so far - can be also applicable to TGS and TGSL, so .. i do know that there is huge auditorium for these matters here...

Yes it is possible. I don't have good camera, will have to wait my friend to visit me and bring good camera, than we will shot another video. No problem.

Its working like charm! I dont know.... I like that high pitch tone!
Depth is great! 35cm+ with 2 euro coin.

Now big iron is giving some differences between coloured metals. With tgsl it was detected clean in disc... Bottle caps detected like good metals unfortunitely
Al foil - no sound at all...
BUT! I havent played much with controls yet so more exp will be posted! It GND balanced very easely though!

Thanks again for the great project Ivconic!

    Bravo! Good news!
Also very clean and neat work!

By inertion i downloaded 0.9.5 version. It is working fine. To much options! Those i can understand - i adjusted, others i left unchanged. First compression (with such adjusted options) gave me noticable better compressed file than Dr.DivX !!! Audio is better. Now higher audio pitch at IGSL is absolute clear without distortion, but lower audio pitch is still a bit distorted. Must be that i didn't adjusted audio options very well. But video is excellent now!
Yes VLC is on my obligatory list each time i prepare and install my working PC.

No worries, if you need support H.263 video (xvid/divx) with mp3 audio, you'll need to download 0.93, after which they dropped support for those formats. H.264 with AAC audio has essentially made the older formats obsolete, so unless you need to use the older formats for particular hardware it's better to use the newer ones.

If you need h.264 playback support, VLC Media Player will handle pretty much any modern audio or video format if you don't already use it. (It can transcode also, but handbrake is generally more straight forward to use.)

Can you elaborate on the advantages of adding a trimmer to the TX oscillator and adjusting the shape of the sine wave? (I have to try it.. I would like to see if my results are the same).

Also, I have always been a fan of a detector with a threshold. Unfortunately, I have not built the IGSL yet and the TGSL does not have regulated power source for the LM358 (U107) like the IGSL does. I suppose I could cut the trace and jumper it to the regulated +8v source.

While experimenting, I can improve the audio response of the TGSL by decreasing R44 (2k2) but I am unable to actually find a threashold. Maybe this is because the power sources are unequal e.g. -5 and +12v?

    Don
Let's remind first, about how all started in the past; first it was TGS with battery check, than i rearranged it and got first TGSL version also with battery check. Next TGSL versions were without battery check. That LM358 is later tied directly to +8V. Later someone again decided to tie it to +12V. I don't see reason to tie it on +12V - because we don't use old Tesoro way for battery checking. Battery check can be done in much better ways.
So that LM358 can be tied to +8V freely, you can do that without worries. Is this affecting treshold swing? I can't tell surely , but personally i doubt. Never checked. So you can tie it to +8V and see. In case you can't achieve treshold - than must be for some other reason, surely not because of +8v voltage that supply LM358.
