Is that with a meter or a scope.Originally posted by gtdavid View PostOk so I retested the tx ac and it is down to 8.63v ac with the cz coil..
Is there a way to boost this voltage?
I measure 16V peak to peak with a scope but under 4V with a meter. There are two way a meter calulates AC true RMS and AC average rectified both a for true pure sinusoidal signal.
Here is a quote from a meter manufacture
"non-true RMS or AC rectified average multimeter may not be accurate to measure non pure sinusoidal waveform due to different hardware architecture being used to extract the signal,"
As for connecting your CZ a few people on here have successfully done it maybe a PM to one of them will point you in the right direction as some of the information is missing from this thread. If I see on come up secondhand at the right price I will try one and would also be interested in the correct connection.

The MPSA14 is the upgraded version of the MPSA13, better spec and gives a bit more punch to sound output , or should I say it does on the Minipulse 3 project.

mostly for these, the Tx cap is in the coil and Rx tank tune is on pcb.
If you have too much or too little Rx cap this will alter sens.
try a few different caps on Rx

Ok I have read the posts on page 3 again and for the fisher quicksilver coil they talk about using capacitors on the tx and rx are these caps placed in parallel at the board or are they a replacement fir preexisting pcb components? ?
I have the coil connected and I am detecting a pair of pliers at about 20 cm . I was expecting a bit better than that.
I also seem to have a fair bit if noise comming threw also I will post a video if it helps ..
Thanks

Hello Medj. It is difficult to understand your post. Sometimes it's the same with mine, and it is because of the translators. Try to use neutral language, without idiomatic used in your region.Originally posted by medj View PostThank you for your good location Fabian
I want to ask you manufactured the device or not
I made the device lacks something I did not know him
Reveals only a distance of 05 cm
I hope that you show me on pieces that control the power device
That I wanted to communicate with me in any way I'm ready
Or anyone else
There are many places went waiting for me
Thank you again for your response
Regarding the IDX, as Eduardo said many times, all published PCB work well. Mine, for example, did not work until I found that he had confused the value of one of the capacitors when I put it together. In most cases, they are construction errors or changed values.
Another issue are the coils. If you are testing with homemade coils, patience. Once one realizes which variables to consider, it is not difficult to achieve a good result, but you can. Patience.
Regards,
Fabian

Ok so the 39 ohm resistor did the trick thank you.
My fisher cz coil arrived today does any one have any connection or circuit tips or tricks to get the most out of these coils??
And if any one knew the pin outs for the fisher coil that would help heaps .
Thank you

On the Barracuda thread BC517 has been proven to work in place of MPSA13 but needs to be turned 180°
