this so called testing has been going on for over two years. Not
one credible piece of proof has been shown yet. If any qed had

QED's have been and continue to be field tested in real goldfields as we speak by real prospectors(including one who has been detecting with great gold success for about 30 years!) and who have no detector company affiliations!

My criticisms and competitive product creation efforts are in the best interest of consumers.

How many corporate enemies do you have, and how would you know?

The Bully Mythology seems to be a common thread in the history of Ultimate Detectors. Seems that more time & effort is spent on propagating the mythology than is spent on developing a competitive detector. Suggestion #7, Respect the Competition, is a difficult one to swallow, especially when you are totally invested in the Bully Mythology.

If, today, you suddenly and completely ceased all efforts to berate Minelab and the people who use them, how would that hurt the development efforts of the QED?

I say it would be good for a person not to speak ill of a company they are trying to compete with. If Bugwhiskers and Doug kept their yapper shut and not put down folks who wondered why the QED was missing the release dates, and stopped trying to put down Minelab they would not be in the boat they are in now.

What do you think Doug? A simple question for you that I hope you have a answer for.

A-yup, I'll readily admit that. But we're all biased, based on personal experiences and perceptions of reality. I think my perception of reality in the realm of metal detector design and manufacturing is a bit sharpened since joining a detector company.

Some years ago, I also had the illusion of developing and building my own metal detectors. Not a gold detector per the QED, but a specialty detector that I could hand-build in low volumes and sell at high prices (gasp!), maybe even enough to pay the rent. In hindsight, it would have been a grueling ordeal as a solo effort. Utterly unwise.

In any case, entertaining thoughts that PUDs are a threat to any metal detector company is certainly gratifying, but not very realistic. The Nexus and Blisstool are examples, they've not even made a blip in anyone's sales. And PUDs do help push technology forward, often in directions that the major companies didn't choose and should have. Ergo, I fully support these efforts, sometimes overtly via these forums, and sometimes behind the scenes.

But when should we get the results from their testing? 2 weeks? 2 months? 2 years ? I hope they could test a machine in a few days. I know most folks could give a report after a week of using it. I know you gave one to a guy in the states to test a while back, How did the testing go?

That is great news Doug. So we should know the results in a couple days. I know that "good people" could give a report in a couple days of testing. How long have they had the QED for testing?
