  • Minelab Commander coil shielding (how it works)

    I have found on detectorprospector.com website and in some YouTube videos the inside of a Minelab Commander coil.
    It seems they use two plates (upper and bottom), appears to be two sheets of some paper coated with some kind of graphite ).

  • Question - PI coil with separate Rx & Tx - Shield both coils or just Rx ?

    Wondering if my reasoning makes sense of maybe only having to shield the Rx coil?

    Coil shielding , opinions on MG Chemicals, Nickel vs Silver vs Carbon, Which would make the better shielding coating, for both PI and VLF coils. I know there is a lot of talk about scotch24 shielding tape but it is rather hard to get a hold of.

    I see all sorts of solutions to sheilding, and it seems to be a big deal. Graphite paint, graphite impregnated paper. Aluminum or copper foil. The obvious is overlooked.

    1. cheap, conductive, common, non metalic. Anyone want to guess?
