TP5 does not look like you have a coil connected.Originally posted by SilverSurfer17 View PostThis is tp2 and tp5. I can move test point 5. like surf did in his video right and left and right in between for the noise. But the wave doesn't look right.

I have bose qc headphones i wanted both options i have ear problems and cant wear headphones to long most all ear buds i have another 8ohm speaker from a old tv im using it works perfect so its not the ohms just a junk made china speaker and i only wanted to use it because its only a inch and water proof but now i see why so when it catches fire and you put it out it can still work lol and thanks for the help Surf and George

Is r2 resistor on the pcb a damping resistor ? and the resistors for the coil are they suppose to be removed before you use the resistor jig ?

R2 is not the damping resistor, it is a 3R3 resistor in series with the Mosfet to limit current. The damping resistor is placed in parallel with PL1. There should be no damping resistor in circuit while the damping resistor jig is also in circuit.Originally posted by SilverSurfer17 View PostWell i figured one thing out for sure i got that new replacement 8ohm waterproof speaker plugged it in checked if it was getting hot nope not at first after about a minute checked it again and hot unplugged it plugged back in the junk speaker louder and no heat went to pick up the coil and it had gotten so hot it remelted the hot glue and stuck it to the carpet so i wouldn't suggest ever using the the 8ohm waterproof off ebay most of my waveforms look correct except 1and2 is r2 the damping resistor and its suppose to be removed off the board to test for the right value ? Also are the resistors that go with the caps of the coil damping resistors is one suppose to be removed or all and then test whats suppose to be there
The last part of your question is not understandable to me.

Speaker / headphones should be high-impedance.
I don't understand your last question (some punctuation might help).

Hi dfbowers,Originally posted by dfbowers View PostI?m trying something new, to me at least. I have painted the inside of the shell with an embedded drain wire, then added coils, then an epoxy fill and another layer of paint, then a final fill. If you look really close you can see the drain wire. It?s embedded in the paint. The paint is really thick. Not sure if it will work until I get to the wet grass.
This works very well for making contact to your paint i tried it but went a little too far I split open 30 strand wire and used 4 individual strands to wrap the coil before spraying . worked great but when I do it again I will use a couple strands from 7 strand 26 awg tin plated wire .
thinking it presents less chance of becoming a target at least for a fast coil. .
Be Well

Yes, pins 1 and 5 should be shorted together. The screen of the coax cable must be connected to GND (0V), and the other end of the screen is connected to the electrostatic shield at the coil.Originally posted by SilverSurfer17 View PostGeorge are 1 and 5 suppose to be shorted together and is screen the same as shield thats why there is no pin for it i want to make sure before i plug it in ?
