felezjoo PI(the best pulse induction metal detector that I made until now)

  • I obtained this sample from Felezjoo to use in creating a first version that can remove contaminants by conductivity. It's not precise, but it helps because it removes everything except copper and silver. This first version is currently being tested, but as I said, it's true conductivity discrimination.
    It's fully functional, and the GT makes it very precise. Because it's conductivity discrimination, the type of soil doesn't matter since it measures the conductivity of the target, whether it's large or small.

      GT version, where can I get this version? Isn't this a version by the felezjoo pi author?

      • As I said, the GT version is a modification I made to the full version 3.35. When I tested it, I was quite disappointed because it lacked stability, among other things.

        That's why I made modifications—quite a few, in fact—until I arrived at this version, which is the one I like best.

        It retains everything from the original but is more complete. There are no more false alarms, and its automatic ground balancing is dynamic, updating in seconds. So, if you balance it on mineralized soil, you can continue using it after a few seconds. But the video shows an extreme test, and I don't think you'll find any soil more mineralized than that.​

        • As you know, the GT version I mentioned is capable of rejecting pewter pots, tuna cans, and other junk.

          Now, the thing is, I did a test. The GT has automatic balancing, and if I balance it over the FE signal, using the Iron Reged at 19 (the setting that allows it to reject pewter and cans, leaving only aluminum cans), it detects the pewter pot.

          For this test, I buried a pewter pot and placed an aluminum can inside. The pot is 1 liter and has a hole about 2 to 3 fingers wide, and the aluminum can is 355ml.

          When I balanced it in the FE zone and then pulled it out to search, it was able to detect the aluminum can inside the pewter pot, but only for about 10 seconds. Because the automatic balancing is so fast, it recalibrates itself, and after that, it only detects the pot.

          This trick acts as an ultra-fine discrimination.​

            • This is a new test I've conducted to showcase the updates I've made and demonstrate the significant advancement of the Felezjoo metal detector. It's the best! In fact, I came up with this test to see if it was possible to continue searching in heavily contaminated areas.

              In the video, I'm as usual, but this time it's a small garbage dump to demonstrate that the discrimination function continues to work even after balancing it in FE mode. It's possible to use discrimination, but that depends on the contaminants in the terrain and the Iron Reged setting.

                • I'm working on an update to allow the use of different operational amplifiers. I didn't like that it's only possible to use the LF357, and I hope the next update will support others. When I tried to use the LT1357, it had less depth because, being faster, it falls off at a different time, causing the error.
                  I hope to fix this in the next update. I hope to have it soon, and I'll let you know how it goes once I've tested it.

                    With so simple schematic and not very power processor, your efforts to improve the possibilities of this solution will be endless. Just understand this is entry level MD with microprocessor's control. It is my simple opinion.

                    • That was it, but with all the adjustments, it actually works better than it was designed to.

                      With true automatic ground balance, things aren't so simple anymore, since I've looked and there aren't that many detectors with true automatic ground balance.

                      Discrimination is more reliable, but only when combined with automatic ground balance.

                      And of course, it now accepts more coils. I've used coils from 230uH to 450uH, so it's easier now, since the annoying coil error is less likely to occur. But for proper operation, it's better to use coils between 300uH and 390uH.​

                      • Hi sabios,
                        With so sensitive solution from the inductivity of the coil and from exact parameters of the amplifier of the RX signal, the practical use have to be very complicated, especially from low experienced users. But the efforts for improving are very catching - it's true.

                        • With all the improvements I've made, anyone can now use it without problems, as it adapts to any terrain.
                          And there are no more fakes, since one of the flaws it had was that it failed in field tests; in the lab, it was different, which is why many people said it was bad.

                          The GT helps you in everything, and now its discrimination is capable of working in garbage dumps as long as the signal is strong.

                          And you're right that the versions you can find are definitely bad because they don't help you, but with the GT, there are no more flaws.

                          You can check out my videos; they might be a little confusing since I'm not an expert, but it's actually much better than more expensive commercial detectors.

                            • I built a Felezjoo Pi device, and when I finished it, it didn t work on 11 volts. I increased the voltage, and the screen turned on, but no numbers appeared on it, only a light. What is the reason, and what is the solution to this problem?

                                Which software version did you install? Which programmer did you use for the Atmega328p?
