    Hi Baterista,
Can you post detailed pictures of the pot cores (Rx - L1, L2 and Tx - L1) you are using ? According to article , L2 is a single-section bobbin and has adjuster (color-coded white ??) while other two are two-section bobbin. I probably got only single-section bobbins for all three and my adjuster slug doesn't fit as per following diagram.

Hello, the coils can be single section, no problems, the "adjust" of white code, according to the datasheet Ferroxcube (Philips) is for low or medium setting adjust, make sure there is a adjust of the brand you are potcore using.
I utilized the brand Potcores Thornton (made in my country) in size 23/17, they do not produce the size specified in the original design (18/11), but this is not a problem, the most important is that it has a "ue" approximate of original.
The winding shall be a huddle.
      Maybe these pictures help.

        hi baterista,

im new here and am trying to build the same deep seeking metal locator you've already build
I have some questions to you: Is this a good metal locator? Does it works well?

please tell me as soon as possible

Hello JimmyCoil, welcome to the forum.
I would say yes, it is a good metal detector, and has stable operation.

            hi Baterista,

            Thank you for your answer.
Is this detector a good one to start with or are there better ones.

            greetings

This is a two boxes detector suitable for great depths, in theory up to 6 meters, if that's your intention and if you have the ease of finding the materials, in my opinion is the best project. But if the intention is to hunt coins, I indicate the ETI1500 (VLF / TR) or the Delta Pulse (PI) for relics.
This two boxes is easy to build, just requires a little care with the potcore coils.

Hello, mahavir, the question is about which of the coils, L1 or L2 (receiver), or L1 Transmitter?

Sorry, I did not pay attention to the question, you talk about ETI549. The fifth wire is connected to the coil shield, usually an aluminum foil around the coils.

There is no ICM7556IPD in ETI 549 that I know of.

Hello mahavir, Davor is correct, there is no ICL7556IPD in ETI549, by chance you refer to the project "Matchless Metal Locator" by Thomas Scarborough?

                          http://www.geotech1.com/pages/metdet/projects/matchless/matchless300c.pdf

If so, the ICL7556IPD in question is a double ICL7555, you must modify the schematic and PCB layout.

                            I am so sorry friend..
Now am making matchless metal locator
But I can't get ic ICM7556IPD so I want to replace by ICM7555.
Then the signals may change or not...
                            Thanks davor and Baterista....

Hello mahavir, try this (see picture). Use a breadboard and report the results.
