Hellow friend I tried icm7555 ic in matchless metals locator but it can't run perfect..
It can't differ between Fe and non Fe metal...
Its ranges reduce to only 3 inches...

There is also the "adjust" for the potcore, as may be seen in the image.

        Hello
        I have constructed this detector,
        The transmitter all good
        The receiver does not work.
The inductors have values mH asking the construction
I just used potcore 23x17 approx.
Do you think that this creates the problem?
Can you send me how much is mH
ie coil rx l2 to R4 to Q1 mH or μΗ ?
        To Q1 to C6 mH?
        Thank wait your answer.

Hello fmnotes, the potcore should not be the problem.
The Rx coil L2 has the measurements as shown in picture.

First check the welding wire in the loop antenna.
          I had problems with it.

What were the transistors you used?

Hi and thanks for your answer.
            They're using the prototype pcb and transistor bc549c, bc559b, bc639 and bc640.
germanium transistor self is used in the transmitter AC131.

Use signal generator starts from 100kh to 0.0 kh and the receiver gets nothing.

            measuring coil.
            total 16.18 mH

            R4 TO Q1 209.5μH

I can not figure out my mistake.

              eventually all good with construction.
              Works excellently.

only if you tell me the performance of this machine.
if you've tried it of course.

              Thanks again Baterista

Hello fmnotes, congratulations for the success, in regard to the performance, I had said something in post # 25, of what I usually test the projects always the same place, a piece of iron buried to 1 meter deep, and I had a clear signal, also had commented in another post that he intended to do further testing including a video to test the maximum depth, but I'm kinda lazy to dig and I'm always putting off.

                  Thanks for the reply.
And I'm glad you got good results with this detector machine.
I'll suggest you dig and do not be lazy as you say, may the luck be your smile .....

                      Hi, fmnotes.

The most deeper that I have dug was two meters,
and my aerobic conditioning left to be desired.

Hi dear Baterista, i need your advise about my building of this project . Hard to find all parts but almost i found most parst just greencap originally i could not find and Ac128 i used Ac188 instead. All other parts i found originally and i build this project. Even i use BC109 and BC179 metal transistor all Q1 to Q7, And Bc639 and Bc640, I use 10 mm height 1 mm. copper antenna. I checked all connections at card antenna and solders. No problem seems. But with SWG 34 wire i measured L1 coil at transmitter 147 mH. L1 at receiver i measure 21 mH, L2 10.3 mH. installed at pcb. Alll wounds are same as project i winded many times with Awg 32 and Swg 34 almost same measurement.
                              Before installation L1 transmitter i measure 214 mH. , L1 receiver 24 mH. , L2 18 mH.
But still i have problem about working. Transmitter and receiver works 20 cm. closer, not working at 1 meter distance. I could not find what i am doing wrong. I could not set up for 1 week.
I need your precious advises. Please can you advise me about this project to check? With my all respects for your all kind helps.
