    So your detector is working with a voltage of 0.3 between coil terminal? I just can't understand why mine is not working.

    Would it be possible for anyone to post some pictures of there fully working unit with all the potentiometer fastened to it as well, so.that I can check it against min , close up pictures would.be great

      In fact I'm now.convinced it's the way I have connected either my battery, buzzer and potentiometers, I really could do with pictures or a drawing showing exactly where each wire should connect to on the terminals.

          Generally Most people wire the controls to external pots, to be mounted on a box, it gives a bit more flexibility for setup.
          I would suggest you use pcb pins on the pcb , for soldering the connecting wires from the pots to the pcb.
          Here is a rough drawing.
          with the coil connections, the braid of the coax goes to the GND, use PCB pins.

              The pot that you have written 10k next to came with my kit and has 2 more connections on the sides, where do these connect to And which goes where, thanks for the help

                The 2 connections are for the on/off switch (12Vdc cut-off from battery).... check with your continuity multimeter test

                            New PCB and Design, Single Sided PCB

                            I was curious about all the problems guys seem to have building the Surf detector.
                            Also I was not happy with the audio output.

                            This one drives a speaker directly with reasonable volume.

                            I connected it up to my power supply and a 3 inch coil that was laying on my bench and it worked straight away.
                            No Adjustment other than turing up the volume.

                            I will set the offset later and do some proper adjustments.
                            When I get some time and do further testing.

                            This was designed using the Origional Surf Schematic as posted by Carl.
                            Mainly I just modified the Output.

                            All Jumpers on the PCB are "0 Ohm", 1/4 watt Resistors.
                            Just because I have them.
