Ring range should pick up everything above foil, coin range will reject some cupro-nickel coins but should accept most copper & silver coins. I'm a little surprised it accepts the Irish 3p and rejects the farthing. As for the other rejected coins, I'm not as familiar with them, but a lot of thin hammered silver coins can ID in the cupro-nickel range.

yes but this machine had me a bit confused, as someone who owned the machine before me had replaced 2 resistors out of the four that is mentioned in MR Bills Mod to be replaced. plus 1 resistor that is not mentioned in the mod. if it was not for that one resistor that had been changed. i would of just done the mods to the machine and not made a thread/posts about it. i was just wanting to make sure that the resistor not mentioned in the mods would not affect doing the mods to the operation of the machine afterwards. i am no expert in electronics at all.

I replaced R7 in my IDX pro with a 200 ohm trimpot, and then with my oscilloscope I managed to find the best result. You can actually do it without the o-scope by air testing it with a coin until you get the best possible depth.

Mr. Bill Crafttree had huge list of mods of different detectors. it all was on his site, with prices. When i told mods i did see in IDX, i got in repair, in the forum, mr. Bill went and opened new topic - with his mods. more than this he did not share. such story you have to know.
my IDX board was not with his mods, but who did i do not know.

I don't but I can take a photo for you when I get home later this week. it's a little tight fit since R7 on the PCB was designed for a 1/4 watt resistor. cheers

In case you are wondering, The DIY version of the IDX, which I'm using, has the same resistors numbering on the original. Also, mine is heavily Modified such that it has 2 tones and VDI and that explains the wirings
