my device shield is done correctly!Originally posted by kt315 View Postahaha! electrostatic field always does influence because WITH THE MOVEMENT THE LOOP.
second your stage is SHIELDING. remember you DO NOT HAVE TO MOVE THE COIL IF
IT IS NOT SHIELDED - !!!!!!!!!!!
but the dvice is not stsble when moving, especially in all metal mode!!
i think some ICs need a hammer

LM258 instead lm358Originally posted by kt315 View Postwrite full coding. LM LF??? what do you mean??????
my device is not balanced at all!!
it always makes noise with the movement the loop, even when ferrite not sensed!!!!
a friend said lm 358 creates noise and should be changed!

you sure??Originally posted by waltr View PostThat is the GB pot.
It works...
until now, i used bottom pot to balance my device!!
both are GB pot????

these two must be replaced???Originally posted by SWL View PostI understand what works. But 358 is a very noisy op amp. Replacing with another should improve the performance of the device. I'll try to do it at home
i can using ic 258 instead 358??

what is this pot doing????Originally posted by waltr View PostNow I can't remember which mode I used to set GB pot.
It could have been in All Metal but switch to Disc to check it still responds to a silver coin.
Yes, a 10-15 turn pot will make adjustment easier. However it needs to be 100kOhm (104) not 1kOhm (102).

i tried with frrite correctly you can see it in this video
but when i move the loop, my device makes noise!!!!!!

is this good for GB pot?????Originally posted by waltr View PostTwo ways:
First, set to Disc mode and disc pot just below foil.
1- use a small piece of ferrite, I use a core from an adjustable RF coil.
Wave the ferritte over the coil and increase the GB pot until the TGSL doesn't beep. Then wave a silver coil over the coil. the TGSL must respond to the silver. If not then the GB pot is turned too far so back it off.
2- In the field with minerialized soil. Pump the coil up and down gently, don't bump the coil onto the ground. The TGSL should not beep. If it beeps then increase the GB pot until it does not beep. Then sweep coil over a silver coil to ensure it still detects silver.
Note: the GB pot is very, very sensitive. If using a one turn pot it only takes a very small fraction of a mm turn.
