    I aiming to build and experiment with the VDI.
    But first I need to get the IDX Board functional.

    Silverdog,
    Have not seen email from you, I am lostam7.
    * We would like to order (1) IDX PRO KIT and (3) IDX PRO PCB Boards.
    If you can set that Order please.
    Thanks, Lostam7.

    I have just ordered some boards, they typically take 10-14 days to arrive
    I'd rather not alter the shop as others may order expecting them to be in stock - if you want to pm me and let me know how many you want we can sort something out

    No email received recently ?

    Ok, thanks.
    I think we have been trying to order a batch since begining of April.
    - And so instead of waiting, we have been working on our own boards ourselves, but with limited success.

    When can we order ?
    Can we place the order, and await the parts ?
    Can you answer via the email that I just sent ?
    Thanks !

    IDX will be back - just many things on at the moment
    I only ran out last week so you should have been able to order recently
    Do I want the sales ? well I'm not a business just a member, more sales enables more projects/stock but less free evening time - tricky balance

    I guess Silverdog is Not supporting IDX Boards anymore.
    Me and some metal detecting friends have been waiting to order a batch of Kits for a month now.
    But, they are still Out Of Stock on his Website.
    We were hoping that he would want the sales - Pity.

    You are using cut up sockets for the transistors ??

    They may not be connecting..

    If yes..

    Pull Q1

    Measure base of Q2 wrt Batt -Ve terminal

    It should read +0.7volts.

    If its still 0.1V ,, Pull the coil off - if you now get 0.7 - your cap is DC short.

    If still 0.1v either base resisto wrong value or not connected to 8v

    OR

    Q2 is wired bad

    Full diameter should be 27cm RX plus TX

    "TX, I used 35 turns of 0.7mm wire on a 27cm Diam Coil - for DD config, Cap=1uF, 1.4 ohms. " does this mean it's twice a big as it should?

    Shape is in the Tesoro TGSL thread

    New Coil gives me 3V pp without Cap (no Freq with Cap).
    Coil: 35 Turns at 27mm Diam of 0.7mm Wire.

    - Where is the 16V pp at 6.5KHz across the Coil ???
    my friend you use +9v , why ???
    use +12v and put you results here.you will see 6.5khz in coil connector pin1.

    OK, Update:

    First, New Coil gives me between 9V-20V on Oscilliscope (which only reads up to 10V).
    But, No Freq with 1uF Cap.

    Second, the Tone disappears to a whisper on the Detector with New Coil,
    no matter how I maneuver or flip the Coil.

    Whats the Magic to get 16V pp at 1.5KHz ?
    my friend you should have scope to see waves .
    TX = 6590hz
    RX= 4680hz

    Is the full DD Coil Diameter supposed to be 27cm ?
    - Or is each RX and TX Coils supposed to be 27cm Diameter per (which doubles the full DD Coil Size) ??
    I made each of RX and TX about 25-26cm Diam.

    I just finished a new TX coil exactly 27mm diam with 0.71mm wire of 35 turns,
    Tested on the Circuit, it gives 3V pp at 160Hz without Cap,
    - and No Freq (less than 0.2V pp) with Cap 1uF.

    Multimeter readings to BAT GND :
    V+ = 8V
    V- = 0V
    1M Resistor to Q2 Base = 8V and 0.14V

    Transistors Q1 and Q2 test as connected, and are installed as in Layout Q1 face right and Q2 face left.

    Measuring Resistance across Q2 Base to BAT GND in both directions gives me: 160K and Infinity.
    All Resistors test as connected properly: 1M, 1.8K, 2.7K to Q2 and V+,V+,V- respectively.

    I replaced the Transistors just in case.
    Are these the correct Transistors ? :
    Q1= BC327
    Q2 = BC547B (in place of BC237)
