    my friend
my lm358 have error(maybe chinese)i change both of them and know work well(just low depth , i will set it)

thanks again for you Mr and Mr golfnut.
i will try to best adjust that you tell me
i have not ferrit can use magnet ?

    EDit:
for adjust i first short pp and fully trshhold on CW and then speaker have a big tone i do not touch more.
then i set Geb pot by frite until cannot detec it
then remove short of pp then by disk can set reject iron.
sens pot for depth, when i CW or CCW not change more and not good discrimination
    thanks

You have a large DC offset at the preamp output of at least +3.5 volts.

That why the Rx signal looks clipped - its saturating on the pos rail..

This needs to straddle the 0V position

Make sure the rails are +4V and -4v WRT the copper around the cct board edge.

I dont know what you have done here to get this.

Put some good 2Mbyte images up in good focus with natural light and we will all try to help you

You could force a better DC offset condition like this...

In PP (P11 short) and theshold fully clockwise there should be a tone from the speaker. Turning the pot counter clockwise until the noise just goes this is a good setting for detecting in PP mode

    Two
To set the GEB (ground balance) turn the threshold up a small amount so there is a small noise from the speaker. Wave a small piece of ferrite 2" from the coil. The sound will either go louder or quieter adjust the GEB until the sound does not alter

    Three

Remove the short from P11 the detector is now in discrimination mode (disc). Turning the DISC clockwise and wave a small iron in front of the coil until there is no beeb from the speaker.

This is a very basic setting Golfnut gave a much more detail explanation a few post ago.
    Hmmm
it is excelent , but befor do this all pots are in middle ??????????
Turning the pot counter clockwise = P5 or sens pot 100k ,correct???
ok i have not ferriet can use magnet ??

i adjust my detect by your good and simply guid ,thanks

i adjust and put it here my result

depth of detecting is very bad ,can detect 4.5*4.5cm foil in 17cm(befor adjusting)
    thanks

    thanks man
but my means my RX when lower than 200mv speaker continue have sound
u say me THERSHHOLD and GEB for pp point ,ok but how i adjust pp point
first i near a little foil and change GEB pot and dont reject it,why?
i know my detector is work but i cannot adjust it

Do you have bad depth in both all metal (PP) and discrimination modes
    frist
excuse me for my bad english and thanks for help
need to say me by simple language to set this detector.point to point
very simple man please i nead realy your help,if you put pics of your waves better otherwise say me simple.
    about VR4 and P7 and P5 and GEB(VR1)
    which is for discrimination?
    which is for sound?
which is for sens(drop noise i think)
    ...

for GEB pot(VR1)i adjust it on zir0 like Rx coil , correct
i send pics of my detector please check
    regards
