You could check the Wave on the TX with a coil connected

You are correct. Its been awhile since I visited my IDX

Ground is the outer track of the board not battery negative.


Have you tried a coil.

For audio stage, what transistor is used? If there is BC517, must be turned for 180 degree.

From memory one side of C27 is positive the other minus when compared to battery minus


be careful with the audio and TX as both use minus not earth.

Do you get plus and minus 4 volts
Mine has never done a start up beep. I get a bit of chatter without a coil but others get nothing.

After i browse, most of the pcb picture have 10k trimport and 3 zener diode.... Should I continue?

Interesting that the inductances are not as White's and it still works well.

Idx is very tolerant about coil's, have another one pcb with Tesoro Tejon (SEF Detech Ultimate) 13" coil which is realy deep, more than 14" for coin's, exelent work trough mineralised brick.
Can also work with Minelab TS 1000 coil for Musketeer, my friend using idx with TS 800 coil (19 cm) but can't remember rx and tx capacitor tank.

For Tejon coil TX tank is about 330N, for RX from 10 to 12N.
Soon i will make fast video with Tejon coil.
