Thats much the same as the BBsailor's idea. The main difference is that the paint can lid is usually bigger diameter, so it will be suitable for let's say coils in the 30cm range. Also the groove there is a bit deeper/wider.

After somemechanicalwork, the lower part of mammut child chair become perfect fit for the spiral coil. You can in fact wind it directly on the housing. Pics below:

Still a work-in-progress, this was made from 100mm sewer pipe (3mm wall thickness)

A sheet of PVC was made by splitting a 300mm length of pipe down the side, softening it with a hot air paint stripper gun and flattening it between two sheets of MDF board.

The 200mm diam circle was cut out using a jigsaw and the 'ears' with an oscillatory Renovator tool. The cutouts are each 35mm x 35mm.

Once I tidy up the cable connections I will weatherproof and protect the coil with a coating of neutral cure silicone sealant

The ears were then bent into shape with hot air and wooden blocks as formers - it pays to wear thick gloves when handling the hot plastic.

I have also made a 260mm diameter one but it may be too flexible.

P.S. the coil is bundle wound wire from cat5 shielded with copper tape (400uH 1.4R) - seems to work well on my Pickini.

One more suitable fold-able chair, cant say the manufacturer, bought in Carefour. Cost a bit more - 8$. Also the hinges discovered on Russian MD forums. Look at the pipe clips. I found that type which uses not only screw, but a channel and trapezoidal plug(see the arrow). Very handy, but without zeggy(jigsaw) its hard to make the holes. Time consuming as well. The hinges(clips) will be glued additionally with epoxy, just for any case.
            Enjoy

Great idea and cool! I have also been making pvc sheets out of pipes ... can't get any where I am and the L-profiles I can get are too skinny and soft.

I heat them in the oven for good while. I am really enjoying this u-pvc re-forming stuff.

As Goaty says - USE GLOVES - I use rough leather welders gloves. They are a bit bulky, but no heat problems at all.

Hot plastic burns are sort of slow-lingering and you won't really notice until its really happened. Hope that describes it.

Reading somewhere i get this idea

https://www.ebay.com/itm/2Pcs-Nylon-...t/263755264535 and than find out the next two:

                https://www.ebay.com/itm/2PCS-Black-...g/153069266773

                https://www.ebay.com/itm/4pcs-Nylon-...p/253771685644

ATTENTION -the deck hinges are coming at different angles. Make sure you have exactly 90 degrees one. Some of the Chinese claim they sell 90 degree but they will send you wrong one!!!

Yeah, the problem with the Frisbee is you cant find them any more in the stores. Seems the kids prefer PS, Xbox, I-pad and so crap instead of the fresh air and exercise.
ATTENTION - Beer(virtual;-) for the one who can give me a link to online store selling Frisbee. The only one i can source these days on Aliexpress and ebay are soft, rubber one.

Go to thingiverse.com and search for "metal detector coil".
None by Tibuck19, but there are a few examples there to choose from.

yeah you are right about frizzbee's not being around anymore, i have only seen them in 2 places lately, once in a huge pet store in the dog toy isle, and in a "seaside shop"(a certain type of shop in uk seaside towns) that sell buckets, spades, crab buckets and allsorts of cheap imported tat.
