    Hi Nandor,

    Do you have access to an oscilloscope?

    Don

    Hi guys it's me again I have another question.I have solved the negative supply problem now i have +7.8 volts on pin 8 and -6.21 on pin 4 .But i have no sound it's doesn't works.What could be the problem?

    According to your measurements, your supply voltages are crossed over. You should have a positive supply on pin 8, and a negative supply on pin 4, not the other way round. I suggest you check this first before investigating why certain voltages seem a bit low.

    @Nándor : Right. You should be around -6V. Check transistors on negative supply.

    @Nándor :
    Do you have the coil connected ?
    If not, the oscillator won't run and you can burn the transistors in the negative voltage generator.

    Usual advice -- double-check you have the pins correct, some confusion between US and European parts...

    Check the base resistor is correct, 4k7.

    Check total current from battery -- should not exceed 40 mA. If exceeds, maybe some short circuit somewhere.

    Check waveforms at non-grounded transistor pins and post the oscilloscope photo so we can see it. Check waveform at -5V output, show photo.

    Of course, could be bad transistor too. Try another?

    Regards,

    Yes, the one on the left is civil war pattern. I have several that I dug in Maryland that look the same. Since the Spanish -American war was only 30 some years after the civil war, I'm wondering if they just used surplus items in some cases. I've found 12 buttons in the campsite so far. They are gold plated, thin brass.
    Finding them with the TGSL requires a very low level of disc., almost as low as foil. I have to adjust mine to just eliminate hot rocks and still accept the buttons.

    Very interesting -- exciting to see history come out of the ground thanks to TGSL.
