Barracuda problem

Hi
I have build Barracuda from silverdog and after i play with it a few seconds, the detector starts to make an intermitent beep beep beep every two or three seconds.
I rechecked components placement and values and this are correct too
Battery is fully charged and coil is the correct one. Any ideas of what could be wrong?

2-does your baracuda work without the last transistor and resistor 270k?

Alexismex, I have a doubt about the value of the resistor that is connected to pin 7 of IC 7660 is 2M2 or 100K.

thanks jap i read the original literature/reviews and i understood it as iron tone identification
and earlier on in the thread alexmex was it seemed to me screaming at us "its due to the tip27"(though noone in the thread was listerning to much off topic nonsense)
plus i'm not having that "the switch/trans is unknown" i'm positive the collective brain power of this forum can crack it if properly stimulated as for sinclair
at maikl i designed my barra to run 9v anyway(with the option of going to 10.2 by adding another aa cell

When the power is 9V then TIP127 not heated, and of course the coil L=450uH and R=1R5.

tone discrimination of metals as a alexismex view ----- When you use tip127 or irf 9660 a different in tone sound is heard ,to sound metal and another sound metal that another ,
