Hi, these are my last files, not for homemade etching anymore... still obvious, that it was redrawn from layout for homemade etching. Would be much better to draw it from scratch, but I am lazy man and used what has been done before.

In schematics is additionaly AB->C, which is not in layout (no space) and I soldered it over actual board, work well even without it, but its nice improvement... Not sure about how schematics and layout match each other There are some choices you need to make... I will not continue in this. I will wait what Davor will produce in next thread

Otherwise I am very satisfied with performance and mainly with ergonomy. I believe that its main reason why my friend with e-trac and equinox often does not find even half of coins I do. Just because I am faster in making decision if I will dig the target and if I do - pinpointer is very helpfull with distinguishing how deep it is and then, when target is out of hole, where exactly it lays. Maybe its just because I dig more. Dont know, must figure out on next hunts.

This version is for Musketeer type of coils:
Tx (0,5mm) 1mH
Rx (0,3mm) 14,7mH
You may use a bit different wire thickness, its not so critical.

Out of curiosity, how do you find this detector compared with others regarding depth, stability, discrimination of iron(rusty at depth, big), foil, coins on edge and target separation (coins in infested soil with iron). Thanks

Hi,

it depends on coils a lot. For 27cm DD 1? is detectable up to 35cm in air (first farts on 40cm), bit less in ground. With concentric better separation than equinox. Discrimination like TGSL...
Equinox was better on smallest targets. I am just finishing small concentric, which I want to run on 20kHz to beat equinox even on those small targets

Try it, hard to explain. Its still the same machine like it was on beginning, only simplified and added pinpointer...

Don't be too modest. I think you found a detail I was very stubborn about before, which makes sense. You added a cap in parallel with the compressor antiparallel diodes, which I discarded as a speed killer. But truth is that for weak signals that are deep in the ground such speed is of no use, but instead a calmer reaction is, so it is beneficial. When the same circuit processes a stronger signal, the speed is not affected, as the diode impedance drops, and its reaction becomes fast. The recovery speed of this design is excellent.

I am quite proud of it - its most complex project I have ever done. Even when I made just few little modifications and all praise belongs to Ivconic of course I waited until somebody will draw it - After few members promised so. After several months without any visible progress, I told myself it would be a good excersize... Drawing tiny SMD with 170 components was new for me. Learned a lot, glad for that.

I was disappointed with depth ability of antiparallel diodes without cap at the beginning. So I tried it with capacitor and was OK in workshop, but it does not mean lot. Then I tried it on field and was satisfied (for deep targets on alone). Most critical test is actualy my backyard - 5-10 ferrous targets per swing, ocasionally button, coin, lead bullet or rifle shell. With concentric, you can pick colored target right between nails, localisation is easy and comfortable. I have no time to shoot video right now, but surely will

Hi, do you mean some apecific tests?

I found most YT tests questionable at the best, so I am curious if there exist any repeatable pattern I can
perform. Of course I will force my friend to bring his commercial detectors too...

target separation is purely down to coil size.

cut half penny next to a half a horseshoe is always half the coils width regardless if its a T2, Bandido or IDX. I doubt the Deus or NOX will be any different.


coins on edge I have never had a problem with on any analogue machine. although a DD will have a dead zone in the centre of the coil but that's the same on any machine with a DD

I've built igsl musketeer (pcb from silverdog), without FE block for now, i just want to see NONFE working. I have at home one coil 9" from xp. can i use it and modify only the tx tank capacitor as the xp tx inductance is 10mH? This is my first VLF project.

Collected Musketeer, pronouncing is liked, but it is not дальности-на brass coin 25мм distance of 10-15см...at the increase of сенс, трэш, аццепт, on the maximal moving away of aim the clean coloured sound disappears and a crack идет.A sensor took practically in "0"-5мв, frequency of Тх-16кгц,1мкг, frequency of Рх-17,7кгц, 14,7мкг.A variable resistor put 10ком, there was not a point of chopping off of ferrit, 47ком put consistently, ТОФ appeared, now deep tone идет on a ferrit, then ТОФ, and farther the coloured tone.What will advise for the increase of distance, can I what collected wrong?
