In the end, after testing, I built a 12" coil and I'm happy with the result.

To protect the coil I have seen that aluminum is used, the shielding should not be completely closed if there are no problems, am I right or does it have no influence on a coil of these characteristics?

Is there anything to keep in mind before closing the coil and applying epoxy?

while you do coil for DP you must think you can use the coil in future, on another type of detectors. with more short MAIN DELAY.
so you must do right from start FASTEST coil, not trash one for your garbage basket.
so i NEVER suggest to do coil with foil. i also do not SUGGEST applying epoxy. you have to do fat AIR jacket between the winding and epoxy.
how? take a rope, wind it around, after wind scotch tape, in two layer, against spilling of epoxy in the rope. you will get air gap in 3-4 mm.

I had thought about putting a helical cap on it.

And then it occurred to me not to fill the coil with epoxy, to solidify it completely and make a slot to insert the helical cable and seal it with thermal silicone.
The blue line is the cable with the helical sheath, this way I avoid filling the entire coil with epoxy and close the 4mm slot that the cable has with silicone.

The coil material is nylon.The coil is manufactured on a CNC machine in one piece with a slot for the cable.With a thickness of 10mm it has a weight without cable of 220 grams.

Helo Jose , i used also this type of wire , it is very good, but i removed the pvc cable cover and i tape the cables every 15 cm with masking tape .... By removing it, you take off a lot of weight of the coil....half!!!

It's a good idea, thank you. I would like to clarify for those who are thinking of making their coils with this type of cable, that there are poor quality brands and this is reflected in the resistance of the conductor, which is of high values, affecting the performance of the coil.

for KIT, you mean, i have to buy new components somewhere. Lithuania is so tiny country you will not seek it at the global map never. does make nothing now. but in USSR did all. so you can buy the details in Chine like i buy too there. all my projects are oriented on very poor people and to second use of old electronics boards you can take from garbage boxes at streets and in shops. we call that 'TRASH TECHNOLOGY'.

  polonez? i did not make this detector. while it is primitive. i did not make IDX, simplest schematic. why you have difficulty it's strange.
  India is great country. biggest in the world. Number 2 in electronics manufacture. my country does nothing.
  IMO you have to pay for naked board, them much on EBAY, that was checked and you will get the result. if you take a pic of layout from global net there will be always mistakes. you will not be able to find up them. and you get just the trash.
