For the best coverage, a 10" DD.Originally posted by dfbowers View PostDepends. It's like using the right tool for the job. For lawns, a small concentric. For the most depth in mild ground, a 10" concentric. For the best coverage, a 10" DD. Personally my 9" DD is a good all around coil. Don't discount smaller coils! My 7.5" homebuilt concentric gives 90% of the depth that my largest gives in ground conditions.

That depends on the type of terrain. I, for example in my area, concentric coil does not help much, because of the high degree of mineralization of soil. I have done several tests with my IDX, and DD coil detects deeper than the concentric. There are sites with less mineralization, where concentric coil defends very well.Originally posted by dfbowers View PostDepends. It's like using the right tool for the job.
