    Hooray for finding LM308.

BS107 MOSFET will be NO good!

I think 2N3819 is a hit-or miss deal. Some will work OK, and some will not. You should look for something better.

    Try to find 2N5484, 2N5485, 2N4393, J112, J113.

k246 (2SK246) should work OK, but you do need to twist 2SK246 leads to where they match the PCB.
Here is good place for datasheets.

edit: this is a re-edit. Some of the FETS listed here have leads that are 180 degrees away from the others and you should download and review appropriate device datasheet, and adjust, before you use these devices as substitutes. DONE.

    Hi
Yes, it is very stable, now i have to find problems that in disk mode, sensitivity is very low and in all metal mode detects a nickel 1.5cm coin from 20cm
my be hand made coil is not effective otherwise , jfets 2n3819 are not suitable this place.
after these have solved, will try with similar parts of course
    maybe...
    op07 , op77, tl081 , tlc271

    Hi
I found the LM308 to be the most stable, tried the 0p07 which gave me instability , but saying that different builds will have different results due to there been so many varibals in the rest of the build.
So worth experimenting with different parts but keep in mind what works for one persons build doesn't mean it will be success for yours and visa versa .

    hello friends
i came back with full hands, obtained lm308 from an old dealer in an old store...
    Nice
but jfets are not available yet
    bf245
    bf256
    j107
    tis75
    2n5458
    bfs76
    and etc...
i just find these : k246----2n3819----bs107(bs107 was a dealer proffer).
And now again need some friend's opinion who guides beginners at all.

    best wishes
    M

    anybody can help?

Ouch. Um huh you answered your own question.

The FET replacement would probably be OK (but not the best) but you need to swap the pins.

BF245 goes DSG looking at the bottom with flat side up. 2SK246 goes SGD.

NE5534 is a good amplifier but not for where you're wanting it. I'll add OP07 to what Don suggested you could try.

Even better would be OP08 or LT1008 (but "good luck" with finding these, as they really are 'exact' replacements for 308.)

It might be helpful to show which schematic you are working from as there are so many. The most common FET used in the TGSL is a J107 but bf245a,b,c work. I have even used an MPS102 without any noticable difference.
For LM308 go with a TL061, (Low power) TL071 (low noise) or TL081(low cost) .

If your 22 OHM resistor and MPSA13 are getting hot then there is something else wrong. If built correctly duty cycle of the audio signal is normally very small.

    hello all
i made this tgsl (posted page1).
but audio is poor and its parts (22 ohm and mpsa13)are hot when using an 12v power supply. will this problem empty the battery if use it?
a 100ohm resistor is in series with 8ohm speaker. how can use a piezo?

    best wishes

Maybe - this is a stupid question and I am just very inconsiderate, but still ...
Where you can see TGS graph in format Protheus (fomat .dsn)? Thanks in advance!
Sure, I can do it myself, but if someone has done before me, why waste time in vain?
