In The Kit from Silverdog content is the voltage regulator 7808.
Here I have to use 12V.
But if I use the LM2930 voltage regulator, can I use a 9V battery?

According to the datasheet, voltage drop for a LM2930 is only 300mV at a 100 mA load. So yes...

Namely because I can use a 9V battery - similar to the Tesoro machines.
So I can use a nice small housing for circuit and 9V battery.


At 12V you need as many batteries .... and the housing is greater ...and heavier

today i finish the box for idx and VDI is now work but how can i adjust it ?
i think discrimination not work well so i adjust this whit Attachment 26873 or glue ferrite on coils(imprortant to use or no ? )

I did not make the VDI but the adjustment is in post 178 on page 8

i today more work for depth whitout Attachment 26873 and glue ferrite on coils, and i have 32-34cm detection for 2000Rial coin.(2.2v in nuling)
so can put here clip for me to adjust disrimination( if you can )

hi all gurus and friend
i add Attachment 26873 and in this i put for C , 100n( between pin5-8 ne5534 )and my nulling figure is 650mv(ne5534-6)
then :
i put the SENS on the max depth then find the best caps for the RX coils (stability and best depth near 32 - 33cm for 2000Rial )and it is for me 22n+22n+1.8n+1.8n
i set DIsC on fully CW(for reject iron ) then get test in my video and put it here.
in video i put by pice of ferrite 5.1cm and i can not reject it , and can guide me more ????(need to adjust for discrimination )
sorry for my bad QUALITY video, ( and i can not find 1EURO in my city ) so i measure by 2000Rial,1000Rial,ferrite , silver ring in this video

Disc should just work. There no real setting up.

Fully CCW to accept everything then turn it up to you required level.

Some big iron still breaks through but look like you gave a small problem. Best to test with a small screw or nail. Should always possible to have no sound at all.

i put disc on ccw fully then check it.
i first think reject the ferrite next ferrite the iron.
EDIT :
i put disc on fully cw and next push zero buttom (set point ) and turn geb pot to find reject point (not reject well )then release zero.
but now again can not reject the ferrite and iron in cw mode for disc , so maybe my coil have problem or problem in me ????(my friend i do every think you say and very ask to you ,so sorry ,but i need discrimination , if you can put here a video for guide me more better. )
