You need to make at least one post before you have permission to post pictures. You've just done that, so please try again.Originally posted by Mefisto View PostIDX done by eduardo. Coil 25 cm. 1 euro 40 cm when tested in air. Switch is added for 1 and 2 tonnes. I can not insert pictures.

Hi,
i have a geotech VDI mounted on the IDX Pro. Is it possible to set the VDI Values in a higher range? for example Aluminium is detected with VDI +34 / +38, Alufoil is detected with VDI -2/+2.
Is it possible to set the Aluminum oder Silver in a higher area ( for example + 85) ?

My Lugatek VDI shows a ALuminium Coin with VDI +70 and Alu foil with VDI +38 - +42
My Geotech VDI shows a Aluminium Coin with vdi +55 and Alu Foil with VDI -6 - -2
My XP Deus shows Aluminium in VDI +90 - +98 Silver in +80 - +89
It would be better when both VDI shows approximate the same value.

VDI signal creep, Help!!
I need Help with VDI adjustment!!!!
I have finally found an original Whites Blue Max 800 for IDX Pro with VDI. Everything is working fine with large coin detected at around 30cm, plroblem is that as a target gets closer to coil the VDI number creeps either up for low numbers or down for high signal with +45 being the most stable area. An AU 50c will start out at +26 and end up +45 when very close to coil. The Disc pot suffers a bit of creep but not like that! I though these problems would go away with original coil. VDI numbers start to show on screen at about half the distance that audio detection is made, is that normal?? I have scope ect for testing. nobody seems to have had this issue yet,
Thanks
Max

I was toying with the idea of a gain control (AGC) to slash the gain of the front end with large iron signals.
The Preamp could have n gain taps with cmos switches to select R's for gain -controlled from an A/D post demod.
