Build the kit as is.. If you lack sensitivity replace the supplied LM324 with an LF347.

From Pins 7 (x) U103a Two wire
From Pins 1 (y) U103b Two wire

This is correct. You'll find +8V on the board, and you use it with a ground connection, NOT -5V! Make sure the wire to the ground is the only ground connection of VDI.
