it is not correct.use 450mkh and 2.5to 4 ohm.

1.7mH would be working but it is not tested. try do mini coil with this L and test it at a table. DP is working with 380-550uH coils.
with 1>mH you ll get more ringing frequency, more amplitude of it, and select the damper resistor value using the o-scope.

hi.KT315. if 110*110cm coil have 1.2ohm can we add 1ohm 5watt resistor.

i believe dp2 good detector and better than another Pi project. so i want have a new Experience with LCD discrimination .

Now sled-coil is 500uH. still need to make small round coil with same inductance for indoor testing & damp resistor finding.

I see much videos of DP3 in youtube... looks too good. Elbombachi made something the beast... make it and show us a result... =)
yes, you can add 1oHm> resistor in the Source pin of MOS-FET... I did test with it, did not notice something positive...
maybe for low delay PI detectors, especially for gold nugget hunting, PI with 10-15us minimal first strobe delay I mean, it would be really actual...
but for DP thinking would be not.

Calculation for the Miscel program indicates that coil 1x1 mtrs, 16 laps, 580 corresponds uH.
Also you can see that if we use a copper conductor 1.5 mm2 section, the total resistance of the coil is 0.65 ohms, a vajo value for the DP.
So I installed a series resistance of 1 ohm 5W, and it worked better.

i use cate6 cable and get best result .
i make new coil and put here for share all . i think if have 400mkh to 500 mkh is good and best R between 2.5 to 4 ohm.
about parallel best is 470 ohm to 500 ohm.

Jose, in your calculation bundle diameter is 70mm. Is this correct?

Here is calculation with d=0.5mm wire and 7mm bundle diameter.
